I can’t find a way to convert coins to renown. I’ve been told to open the campfire and check the bottom-right corner of the screen, but there’s still no button when I do so. I have over 1400 coins on a maxed Cariel Roame, so I know I have coins to convert.
It would be helpful if you could share a screenshot with your campfire open. There should be a little green plus sign next to the Game Menu
I checked around, believe me. In fact, I just maxed another character (Lich King), and the button appeared afterwards, exactly where everyone said it should be.
But it only converted coins from my newly maxed character, and none of the others. It shows my Lich King as “Maxed!” in the collection, but doesn’t for Cariel.

Have you recently maxed her? This used to happen, but would be fixed if you exited the tavern (collection) and opened it again.
As I said, I checked that exact spot on the menu, more than half a dozen times, and there was no button until I maxed Lich King. I’ve tried closing and reopening the collection, or closing and reopening the game several times, and it didn’t change a thing.
And no, I did not max Cariel recently. She’s been sitting maxed in my collection long enough to accrue over 1400 coins.
Take it easy — the illustrations could be useful for someone else looking for the same thing next time. 
Noticed that, but who knows — you might have got those coins without completing her task chain, for instance, so that one equipment piece is still locked. Incidentally, isn’t it what’s going on with her?
No, I unlocked and maxed all of her equipment. Before the Renown update, she was shown as “Maxed!” in my collection.
