Good for them. 1/100 players gets a great run, everyone else gets shat on and then gets an open hand thrust into their face, demanding gold to ‘have fun’.
Totally the best use of a brawl slot. See above about how it should be a separate arena mode, instead, if people actually like it.
I hate to see Brawliseum show up in Tavern Brawl and have never been a fan of Arena. Now that TBs are all week long this is especially bullsh!t. As F2P I like to use TBs for completing daily quests for certain classes. It also really sucks how they’ve changed the daily quests this time around. It’s not easy to complete the daily quests for multiple class-specific wins when you get stuck with one that you don’t have a competitive deck already made for. It ends up being a waste of time and is not fun. Fkn Brawliseum
Tournament mode would be like specialist format were you have best of 3 and not some random dodos each game. That you can tech against your opponent (or swap decks if conquest) to have more of a strategic depths.
People like different things just get over it and stop crying and btching … i love this brawl since i can farm gold and packs , its perfect for f2p players. When blizzard gives you something for free just take it…
I get that a lot of people dislike the competitive aspect of Brawliseum.
Let’s look at the rewards, though. I’m not great shakes as a player. I took a Quest Rogue deck and played Brawliseum three times. My records were 5-3, 4-3, and 1-3.
My rewards: 100 gold, 75 gold, and 30 dust; in addition to the packs, of course.
The point being that I came out ahead every time; even on the last run where I hit a streak of bad matchups. A pack is 100 gold = 40 dust (which is what most packs devolve to after opening). Even on my worst run, I paid for 1 pack plus 20 dust (150 gold) and I got back 50% more dust than I paid for. I paid for 1.5 packs and got 1.75 packs back.
So, while I might have had a feels-bad moment on my final run due to losing three matches consecutively, I still got more rewards than I actually paid in entrance fees. From an investment standpoint, it was all gravy.
Given those results, I’d say that Brawliseum is okay as long as you can manage at least one victory.
While it’s true that if you open a single pack the most likely outcome is for you to get 40 dust, on average each pack is worth about 100 dust (102.71 according to an experiment). That’s because legendaries and golden cards boost that average by a lot.
That being said, if you like the reward system, you should try arena, it has the same reward structure and no time limit.
I don’t like making the tavern brawl a pay to play event. After the first run, you should be able to keep trying, but without a reward. The event keeps the rewards and is not designed for the common player.
