Blizzard bot plague

Just came back to HS after few months…still had star bonus and everything, in two hours I’ve played against at least 5-6 blizzard bots…

One game…fully decked out legend card back player, the next…dumbed-down blizzard bot…

No, queue times were not long, every queue was maybe 5-10 seconds. What is the point of this??? Stop wasting people’s time, if I wanted to play against AI, I’d play vs Inkeeper.

That’s the lower tier of the ladder coupled with being away so long(yes your MMR degrades if you stop playing for a significant amount of time).

Yup, it’s sad, but XP botting accounts and then selling them is a thing, so low MMR will forever be Botland. I only play Hearthstone just enough to clear quests so I am always stuck there XD

I don’t really mind bots in games. A lot of people in games are jerks, bots won’t spam you with emotes or rope you.

Who gives a damn what rank people are being infested with bot matches. This shouldn’t be a thing in a competitive game. Quit defending this garbage.

if the game was better maybe peoples will be actively playing it at all day and night times but the game generate so much frustrations due to imbalance that a common sense player will not play for long XD the rock paper scissor makes that you automatically lose matches vs an archetype that counter you , oh yyeah you have win streak to counterbalance this xd but this render the bonus null lol .

The changes were probably made to insulate new players from smurfs. Not putting in blizzard bots would leave smurfs with no players to match against.

At the start of every monthly reset you will encounter these bots if you lose (or immediately concede) two games. Sometimes after just one. The climb is fast with bonus stars, and once you are near last month’s position in the ladder you generally never see them again.

At least the Blizzard bots are free from the sever autism plaguing the Heartstone playerbase that seems to be forcing them to play the same boring deck for months and months.

And their plays are just as bad too, so the only thing missing from those bot games is the satisfaction of making a net decker lose.

How would smurfing even make sense in heartthstone? You start a new account just to be matched against easy opponents? Usually smurfing only works in games where you want to shoot up in some stat as fast as possible while the going is easiest as possible. Common games where that happens is in RTS games, where people try to get like 40-0 records.

In HS there is no such stat to maximize.

Bots exist because of several different reasons.

1.) Player run bots break the user agreement but are usually run to collect gold from quests (or just play), and occasionally are used to place very high in some ranked format by playing a really dumb deck (like pirate rogue, UH DH or somethign else) on repeat day/night (this is posisble because a lot of these dumb decks are easy to play perfectly and have like 52-53% winrates, so if you play enough you will climb.)

2.) Blizzard bots exist to give a “sink” for losses. There is a presentation given by Ben brode that discusses this. THe idea is you want a large group of your player base absorbing a ton of losses at the very low end of the skill spectrum to give those palyers a feeling of being great.

but people did it anyway im pretty sure you read posts about people conceding to tank their mmr at rank floors

now we have people complaining about facing bots but all the complains about facing optimized decks by players at bronze/silver who never reached legend stoped i havent seen a single one in months
