There’s never a good time for the authority fallacy. The irony is that people who go to the top are not that stupid either.
Notice that the OP was very careful to not call my argument stupid but to say “well I didn’t say it’s confirmed!”.
So yeah be taught by your idol, they didn’t return with a “well I’m top so you’re wrong automatically”,
the ironing is kinda sweet if you get it.
It is an opinion. A casual observation. It has nothing to do with anything else.
It’s a fine argument. I didn’t counter the OP with “you can’t have an opinion”. It’s when others than the OP return with the “argument” “well he’s top 20 so shut up” that it’s nonsense; notice the top 20 person didn’t say that; they’re not going to the top 20 that easily if they brain works with foolish authority fallacies because if they did they wouldn’t be able to escape the mold of the perceived behaviors of their idols which are often mirages.
No, you immediately came in saying that websites do what he is doing. Duh. Everyone knows there are sites. Dude was just giving his thoughts and people had to ride in and act like some pissed in their cheerios. It happens all the time.

I may be wrong on the 1st reply. I was talking about your “argument”. Mocking people for “daring” to speak to a top 20 player; that’s textbook authority fallacy; and it’s always foolish to respect that.
Your 1st post was condescending and made you sound like a jerk. Maybe check it. You came off like a complete jerk. Maybe get some self awareness.
Then your next post was even more condescending trash. He literally says he is just giving his opinion and you go on about sample sizes. Like, my guy, you come off as a complete tool here.

Perhaps I was rude on the 1st reply. It doesn’t excuse your behavior. You will never convince me it’s smart to drop authority fallacies.
You do not understand what that means. He was not saying it was facts. IT WAS CLEARLY STATED AS AN OPINION. If he was saying “I am right because I am a top 20 player” then sure. But, he was saying, 'here is my opinion as a top 20 player."
Then you came in acting like a tool. OF COURSE they are going to respond in kind. Just apologize and have a bit more tact in the future.
This isn’t even the 1st time either. You are negative and act like that plenty. Ask yourself why.
I never said I was a top 20 player anyways, I was trying to avoid it because I know people would take offense to it for whatever reason.
I made the post with the assumption that some people would already know who I am with regards to this game so I wouldn’t have to say it.
Thanks for defending me as well, you brought up some decent points.
Carnivore is not totally wrong with some of their logic either but their attitude comes off negative often. To me it seems like Carn is a natural problem solver, so their instinct is to analyze things and find flaws but sometimes its just better to leave things alone. As Norm Macdonald has said, you don’t want to be the smartest guy in the room, nobody will like you.

No problem. It just gets old when someone makes a post like, “I think pancakes are the best breakfast food.” and then watching people start yelling about how much OP must hate waffles.

They did not say “I’m top 20 so apologize”. You did.
This is the 3rd post in a row I’m reminding you.
I don’t think I was the smartest, the reply could at least be less rude. I literally had no clue who you are and therefore if you know of the stats sites; it could be in a form of a question; “is this purely an opinion post and you do know stats sites exist?” though I bet others would still jump in to say “don’t speak to the top 20 player” (for which again I had no clue because it’s reasonable to assume you use stats collection sites if you play well).

Altair did. Just apologize and move on dude. Numerous people have called you out and I am glad you admitted it.
I have nothing to apologize to you. I’ve already talked clear to Qwark. You and Altair have to stop bullying people with the authority fallacy of ranks; Qwark never did that; they just called me negative and I accepted that.
I don’t use anything, never used a tracker, don’t copy any decks from sites, never used a site tier list to influence what deck I play as I think while they are statistically sound, they aren’t relevant to me.
If I see a deck on ladder I’ll just make it from memory most times, or make a new one. Some people don’t know but Overheal Priest was a collaboration between me and Aquabeam, we literally made the deck everyone is playing this expansion from scratch within the first 2-3 days of the expansion. Then we helped a few players learn it before masters tour so they could bring it in August-- and it caught on after that.

I can see that type of analysis working. If you play enough games you are your “own database of decks” anyway; you know what netdecks are around; you can also modify them maybe.
Also the stats sites are very limited to you; they only look at top 1K; sometimes I feel they’re limited to me too because sometimes I wonder “what does the top 50 play?”.
