Balance update tomorrow

I did warn people that libram of divinity was utterly broken and is a hard limit on how much they can buff the discount cards.

That said, I don’t think libram paladin will settle on top, as it isn’t even the best paladin deck, lynessa is a bit better due to not having as awkward of a game on average.

how do you get a 30 attack minion with charge on turn 6?

But they buffed one of the super useful legendaries rogue has gotten in the past 2 years to compensate!

Now instead of being absolutely useless garbage is just useless garbage. Shouldn’t we be happy? Surely the important thing here is now people will never get OTKd from hand ever again? Right? Right?

Is this sarcasm?
That’s not really a buff it’s adjustment in advance, maybe the miniset or something else down the road had a “powerfull” nteraction with the stat line or the mana cost and talgath it’s underplayed beacuse i’ts effect is not powerfull currently it would had been a great legendary back in maybe 2018-19

Yes it is

This legendary is garbage, costing 3 or 4 doesn’t matter. It’s an aura that only affects undamaged minions, it’s hardly worth an epic card.

Agree on that but we need to kill rogue or the mediocres of reddit won’t be happy.

My struggle with murlocs is board space is so limited when ypu try to go for murkeye builds. You need like 3 or 4 board spots for your utility cards. It is difficult to scale and cycle

Really not even gonna talk about mage because to be fair the cards are junk from the start.

The nerfs are literal revoked buffs mostly.

And even stuff that people claim that is “BROKEN” are in general barely passable cards.

Also remember my objection to nerf skyla? Aged like whine.

On coin

Turn 1 pass
Turn 2 coin weapon
Turn 3 weapon
Turn 4 draw librams
Turn 5 lynessa + 2x divinities
Turn 6 Leeroy + 4x divinities (total 8 casts for +24), Leeroy has 30 attack

If lynessa died before turn 6, liadrin on 7 can generate 10 more divinities after the 4 you cast for the turn. If any minion was alive that’s up to +42/+42

It’s gets out of control fast

Uhm, how exactly you perform turn 5 in this setup? arent you short like 4 mana here?
Edit: Ah, I see, turn 3 is 2nd weapon. OK, nice high roll here, but technically it is possibel, I guess…

I’ve got a replay I can show, it’s super funny.

This paladin against my starship hunter who’s going to play Leeroy and the divinity combo and emotes me well played.

He plays Leeroy and my starship piece attacked it and killed it.

My next turn I OTK him. I laughed so hard

Boy is Sonya useless now. The devs often get their targets right but can’t seem to find a good spot. Sonya, Reno, Hauler, Tony, Party Fiend. Almost as bad as the misbuffs.

So, the answer in the current Standard meta is to counter busted plays with your own busted play. Anyone else miss the hearthstone of the first couple years? Victories in current HS really don’t feel like victories. Just feels like I pulled off a bigger pile of bs than my opponent.

I have never seen more misplays caused by a card than by specimen claw.

Yeah, turn 6 is a high roll for sure, turn 7 is pretty easy to pull off, honestly. It’s the same path, but you only need any minion alive going into turn 7.

It happens so often too lol

Especially if you launch. People don’t read the launch effects and forget the claw is in there as well.

That claw can really mess up combos.

If you bird watch it for the +2 attack making it a 4/7, people will go out of their way to kill it because it’s highly disruptive.

I once had both 4/7 on board on turn 5 and you could see this DK struggling so hard to remove them at all costs he basically used his entire hand just so he could play his 2 mana reborn giver. Poor guy.

If you think about it it’s a terribly designed card. You have to remember all the pieces that went into making your opponent’s star ship. I personally don’t care enough about this game you dedicate that many mental resources. Try hovering over a star ship on mobile to read what’s in it, it’s just an illegible mess, that is partially covered by your finger to get the info sheet to come up anyways.

And there are zero visual indicators what a starship might do, even if they have one they usually have like 5 other effect indicators that obsfucate that mechanic. This one is not on The player’s it’s completely on the poor user experience they keep pushing on this game.

Because there is no “good solution” for most situations like sonya.

Other thing you miss is that when a nerf is done because of “play patterns” the aim of that nerf isn’t to balance anything but to reduce playrate and only that.

Thing that would be easier done with bans put in place(literal 0 playrate in the format after a ban) but people are too hypocrite to do that and instead prefer to nerf in a way that no one will play again to the option of let people who like use in wild(non competitive setup).

Just after I read this post, my starship rogue discovered claw on turn 1, playing it on 2.

2 turns later, I use conman to repeat a 2nd copy :joy:

Then for good measure I drop the one that randomly generated by shipwright after that :joy: :joy:

DK couldn’t get any minions on board basically all game. By the time he did, I had lethal.

Yeah, it’s pretty funny if you get the ball rolling. DK has a lot of cheap health minions that they generally want to stick for at least a turn.

Even if it just does 2 damage, it’s annoying and it helps to keep tempo.

6 health on a 3 drop is just stupid high, even if it will use up that health attacking things coming in.

I mean, remember when EVIL Miscreant used to be OP at 5 health and then they had to nerf it to 4? (but now it’s apparently back to 5 health in wild).

And then biopod just enables some silly late game burst/OTK.

Hunter has some good starship pieces. It’s weird it’s not getting as much press/attention.
