If ankylodon dies on opponent’s turn and opponent has a weapon, if the summoned minion attacks face it will take damage equal to opponent’s weapon attack. I don’t think this is the intended behavior for this card and I don’t think I’ve ever encountered something similar.
it is intended
sorry
When attacked on your turn, your hero does trade back to the attacker, that’s intended
Just as minions, your hero can have an attack value during your turn, and if it gets attacked, it will deal damage back as any character with an attack value.
that’s precisely why the weapon slot closes when it’s not your turn
Even though it’s a niche interaction, there are been a bunch of ways to make it happen
The oldest one being from classic with misdirection so it literaly exists since the launch of the game
Maybe the most seen was last year with Odyn, Prime Designate because there was a couple scenarios that would give armor to your opponent during your turn, giving their hero an attack value during your turn
Not a bug. This is how weapons work
Perhaps you haven’t – it’s a rare situation to be attacked on your own turn.
Usually, minions attack on their owner’s turn, during which time the enemy hero’s weapon is sheathed and has no Attack value.
But on the rare occasion where a minion attacks on the enemy’s turn, the enemy hero’s weapon is unsheathed and will deal return damage to an attacker, exactly as if it were a minion being attacked.
This isn’t a bug.
