Bestiary and Essence Farming

Hope they make a mechanic where we get the ones we don’t have first or atleast high possibility of getting what we don’t have. I understand it is 100% RNG but 4 almost 5 months of daily farming bestiary and i still don’t have it. Now we might have a new zone and possible new bestiary pages. Even essences too, I dont think they be lowering the loyalty bonus nor they going to remove the cap on the thing, atleast give us a high percentage of getting what we dont have first. Not duplicate after duplicate. Don’t get me wrong I still like farming new essences i think it makes class changing fun but I think it would be smoother to have this sort of mechanic and we could explore more classes quicker and easier. I dunno just sayin

they actually added it for the bestiary a while ago but no idea if it even works with increasing luck for a new page

Many months ago, the patch notes indicated that the first Monstrous Essence hand-in of the day had a higher than usual chance of giving you a page for the Bestiary that you do not already have. Of course, it didn’t say what the base chance was, or what the increase is.

However, the more of the pages you have, the less likely each subsequent page you obtain will be one of the ones you’re missing. The last few pages will always take ages.

Yes I totally get that but almost 5 months of farming and I still haven’t got that last page is crazy. Just wondering what others are doing differently since they have no problem getting it. I know you don’t get anything from it at the end (which is a bummer) I expected that it would take time but just wasn’t expecting it to be this long.

There are 170 pages in the Bestiary. You get a Bestiary page for the first three Monstrous Essence hand-ins per day. So, five months is roughly 150 days, at 3 hand-ins a day, is a total of 450 hand-ins…

  • Chance that the page you get is not the missing one = (169/170)
  • Chance that none of X pages will be the missing one = (169/170)^X
  • Chance that none of 450 pages will be the missing one = (169/170)^450 = 0.0703076

This means roughly 1 in 14 players would get this result.

So roughly how long does it typically go for one to get them all?I reached 169 4-5 months ago and I have been farming for that last page for the last 4-5 months tho.

I think it took me a few months to get the last page I needed.

Yeah at this point I am just thinking 169 is the cap so i can feel better for getting duplicate after duplicate.
