Your account is currently locked

So I was playing, got disconnected and got this message when trying to log back in. It says "Your account is currently locked. Please wait a few minutes and try again (Code 395002). "

Any suggestions?

There’s always waiting a few minutes before trying again.

Don’t panic. It’s just an error you didn’t get banned or lose access to your account.

Or a complete re-install from scratch.

Well, FWIW I did wait about 10 minutes. Still getting this.

In all seriousness, generally speaking this is poorly communicating that the server still shows you logged on after the dirty disconnect, so you can’t log on. So usually a short wait. No idea then if you’ve waited 20 minutes now without progress.

I remember my account being locked out during maintenance last week. I had to wait until 5PM the following evening before it unlocked.

Thanks, this is actually a helpful comment. I was finally able to get in after about 15 minutes.

Yeah that’s the other common case, I stayed online as long as I could after the last beta weekend, just to see what’d happen. Eventually my account got locked

This is exactly the correct answer. You need to wait a few mins then try again. When you get disconnected the server does not instantly drop your account. It thinks you are still logged in so you get that message. It is a bit misleading and alarming. It should say something like “An account with this name is already logged in, please wait a few minutes and try again”.

That does force a full account data refresh, but in this case is not needed. That is used when the Battlenet account is locked for security reasons like an odd access pattern.

If this happens restart, by time your OS is back up Blizzard’s servers will have let go of your login credentials. Additionally, this MIGHT help force the situation a bit faster. Might.

You play WoW? Sometimes in that game when you disconnect, you’ll get an “A character with that name already exists” error when you try to log back in. It basically means that your character hasn’t been logged out yet. For some reason, in their wisdom the devs of this game decided to make that same error seem like you were banned.

Just wait like 5 mins and try again.

“An account with this name is already logged in, and is currently emptying your Diablo and Real Life bank. Please wait a few minutes and try again”.

Its stupid that we all accept this with single player games today. Games we purchased with money and should own.
I hope I get to see companies punished for crap like this in my lifetime.

You can argue that this one little thing is no biggie but it all adds up.

No, its sad that this and other similar issues happen this often with a game we paid money for and own. Stop simping for corporations.

If you’ve been kicked off recently, just try relogging.
It’s an error message, from what I can gather, when you’re disconnected unexpectedly and the game still thinks you’re logged in and is trying to kick you off the server to let you back in.
If not, put in a ticket because that’s really not okay, we paid for the game, after all.

Single player offline when?
