You want your minions to do massive damage? Here's how

https//d4builds.gg/builds/04f1c972-d8c1-4b39-a5cc-337d8925c17b/

With this build both you and your minions will do massive damage. Cleared through T66 at level 100.

Fueled by death: (3/3 ranks) 12% increased damage for 6 seconds after consuming a corpse.

Flesh-eater legendary node: 40% increased damage for 6 seconds after consuming 5 corpses.

Scent of Death legendary node: 15% increased damage

Blighted offensive aspect on amulet: 170% increased damage after 6 seconds after shadowblight key passive damages enemies 10 times.

Corpse Tendrils + Aspect of Grasping Veins buffs your crit chance and crit damage tremendously.

Added Bone Prison to the mix for increased mendeln proc rate.

It’s easy to keep these buffs up. Here’s an example of the damage increase. With all 3 buffs up my attack power goes from 7500 to 31,000, that filters down to your minions. If Ring of Mendeln (not required for this build) procs at all let alone while those buffs are up elites just get deleted. I’m testing this on mobs 20 levels higher than me and they just get destroyed.

TLDR: Massive damage buffs make you and your minions do massive damage. Enjoy my fellow Gods of Death and good luck out there.

How do you keep your minions alive?

My minions almost never die. According to tooltip-

Minion life bonus- 248%
Minion armor- 14%
Mage resist all- 22.7%
Minion damage reduction- 56.3%

I also have 7k base armor, which they get a portion of. I also use the armor aspect that grants armor per hit up to additional 40%. So when that’s maxed you can look at your armor on tooltip and it says 100% damage reduction. Now you don’t get 100% reduction obviously but if you stack armor they get armor. I also have fully invested in all rare nodes in cult leader board with a level 21 Deadraiser glyph.

Edit: My minions take less damage than I do and I regularly cast the skeleton priest heal over time on them.

Been playing minions myself, not quite at your level yet but yes, it is not weak. For those worried about defenses, to start with you just use the passive node in the Ultimate Skill block that makes it so the minions cannot take more than 30% of their max life in a single hit, and use the priest to keep up the heals. Once you have enough defenses and life from gear/paragon then you can possibly drop this node.

Minions have insane attack speed, I would estimate them doing at least 2 attacks per second possibly more depending on how attack speed works. If you have 12 minions at 50k damage each, that is a total of 1.2mil DPS. Also minions have pretty much 100% uptime on mobs.

Only real downside is lack of focused targeting, would love an “Attack this guy” command.

I droped blighted and darkness from my build a while ago, it takes a lot of time to build up and by that time enemies are already dead. You got some big numbers but low efficiency.

Flesh eater and fueled by death are quite mandatory, though if you are using CE.

The thing is Mendeln build damage output >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any true minion build, and it doesn’t require you to invest in minions anything but minion damage reduction.

At the current state of the game, pure minion builds are for two kinds of people: the ones who don’t have Mendeln, and for people that still want to run pure minion despite the fact that the damage is much lower.

Pretty much this. You get the ring or you have a damage source and the utility of minions. You simply can not “efficiently” push by only using minions without the ring. I post a video of my build clearing 3 levels above myself. That is it that is where I fall off. 20 minute dungeon runs. Meanwhile my brother is playing sorc with 4 infinite mana builds ten levels lower than me clearing 20 levels higher. Feels great for skills with 39, THIRTY NINE PEOPLE, skills attached to minions. My god companion sorc out performs and people consider that a dead build.

The minions really just need an outright damage buff, if they changed it so they got 50% of weapon damage instead of 30% and gave them 100% of your crit CHANCE, it might be enough to make them viable.

I hate having the rely on Crit as I would prefer it going in a different direction but in current game with how itemisation works it would be the easiest way to make them more viable. At least they are not at the point where an entire rework is required to make them good.

Need all that setup when bonespear crits for 3-5 mil lol.

That’s why there’s tendrils. Hit the front mob with Blight. Wait a few for 1x corpse, and put tendril, quickly buff the skellies with one corpse then spam corpse explosion miasma. And watch mobs get erased. No more golem becoz of tendril. Golem got sacrificed for buff. Just you and the skellies, some decrify spams and the tendril.

I just tried tendrils today with the crit aspect and wow insane damage. I still use golem because I added control glyph and its all cc / vuln all the time for massive damage.

Is tendrils better on pc or something? On console it has some sort of issue where ill be facing a corpse and it just will not cast at all. I like bone prison with the exploding aspect more because it actually casts.

I would literally sit there and spam corpse tendrils staring at my skill bar until i saw it activate after 10 button presses.

minions melting after 50

cool bro, now do t80+ with minions.

… and without the ring of mendeln

I cleared T54 last night, no minions melted. 400% minion life bonus

I don’t understand what people don’t “get” about this. You must stack for minion survivability at which point they become more than tanky enough. The difference is startling between base minions and fully spec’d/geared, and it CANNOT be from talents/paragon alone. It also comes from gearing properly with +minion life, since it scales so well with priest heal.

Yep. And also the armor aspect stacks your armor which gives them some armor.

The key to maximizing your minion’s damage is to sacrifice all of them.

T50

man I wish homie, i really do , but we all know the truth

They key to maximizing your minion’s damage is to sacrifice the necro and reroll barb
