You should be able to advance world tier before finishing campaign

As the title says, not being able to increase/advance your world tier until you beat the campaign with a character is the worst mechanic in the game. Just this alone ruins all my motivation to keep playing once I hit approximately level 35-40 because everything is so easy to kill, and I feel like I am being forced to rush the game as fast as possible now just to get to the next difficulty. I have just started Act 2 and I am already level 42… I don’t want to rush the campaign just to get to the next world tier, but I am losing all motivation to keep playing because the game has just become way too easy on my current world tier.
What is the reasoning behind locking world tier to completing the campaign? I beat the campaign on one character pre-season 1, and was hoping it’d unlock the capstone dungeon for future characters… Doesn’t seem like it. Even then, I was super annoyed with this mechanic/gatekeeping as it forced me to rush through the campaign and ignore every other piece of content because I was already level 55 and everything wasn’t leveling with me anymore. Now I feel like I’m right back to the pre-season where the game is trying to force me to ignore all content except the main story, just to allow myself to make the game harder…

WHY BLIZZARD???

If you you beat the story on one character already you really should have skipped the story on your new toon. Then when content feels week try to hit up the capsone and advance. Also beating a capstone with one toon doesnt open it for another toon, you have to run em for every toon. Captain Hindsite signing out.

So, because I wanted to replay the campaign, I should be punished by not being allowed to do the capstone yet again until I finish the campaign on that toon? Yea, no. Its bad game design.

Influx of newer players has definitely brought this topic back. Not that it’s a bad thing mind, just find it interesting is all. Now it is something the devs have mentioned, but nothing concrete has been established yet, was more or less a passing thought.

You should be able to select all difficulties from level 1 if you unlocked them once. Just scale the difficulty accordingly. There doesn’t need to be level 1 sacred and ancestral gear, but if it helps leveling faster, i would use it.

Campaign is the tutorial mode for D4. Its not a repetitive gaming mode. End game content is the focus.

You selected your own punishment upon character creation.

Re-make your character. You can hit 40 in 2 hours. You can even use your stash to port over all the gear.

To be fair, previous Diablo games allowed this. In fact when D3 launched the campaign was all you really had to level with. You did it one tier and rinse and repeat for the next tier. It shouldn’t be all that hard to implement in the game for players that love that sort of thing.

Its a real shame. The campaign is fun but even you even get off your horse for half a second and kills some enemies you end up outlevling WT2

They should have a uber version of the campaign that is on the Lv 85 NMD difficulty level, which is optional for each player to choose to play each season once they reach lv 100.

You’re agreeing that choosing to do the campaign is a punishment. That proves my point of it being bad game design lmao.

Been requesting this for ages theyre too busy with streamers i dont think blizzard knows anyone else exists.

At least the campaign advances the battle pass, just get over what your character ends up when hitting wt3 (if you bother continuing at all, endgame is just a ratwheel casino anyway).

EDIT: ALso try wt1. In s4 theres no practical difference in difficulty that you’re going to experience, so you might as well enjoy the lower experience rate of wt1 and not get triggered the game is broken while playing the campaign.

No. I’m agreeing that you voluntarily clicked the button which developers put in specifically due to player outcry. You are crying about something developers have already addressed.

Put on your big person pants, and choose another hill to die on. This battle has already been fought and won.

Good luck in your future endeavors. I wish you luck and good fortune. Keep on blasting.

Jesus what a response. Most of us who have played Diablo in the past haven’t encountered a version of the game like this. It’s open world, there are the dungeons (of course) and there are sidequests.

Just going through the game as it is intended will over gear you past the ability of the content to keep up.

If they were going to lock you in expert hell they should’ve capped armor rating of your gear. The fact that we can obtain gear that makes your entire experience this mind numbing is really what people are talking about. They are making sense here.

Imagine saying this to the teams of people who sat out creating the story, the concept, the mechanics. Wild.
