Orange has brought to my attention that the arc lash nerf does not affect the additional cold skills d/t the cold skills requiring cold damage to proc. Because of this, my personal build is not as affected by the nerf as I thought, despite the fact that I use every skill that was nerfed.
This one probably hurts the most.
Yeah it sucks to get changes this bad when gear is already made.
They should at least compensate the gear a bit, like maybe let you trade it for something of equal value but different skill associated. Not even sure how they would do that. Like code something that looks at your new build and eats and old legendary then spits out a new one with some RNG involved but related to the nodes you picked. (although I can see this being abused)
Yes I now hear,
“I’m out of mana!”
nonstop.
I’m not normally a HC player, but with how sneaky and evil these quick changes have been? Writing it off completely for now.
This is why the leveling contest should have started with Season 1. Pretty ridiculous to have this amount of buffs & nerfs during it with many more changes to come.
I wrote off the contest when I saw Butcher in 2 of my first 3 Dungeons at lvl 13.
I mean technically I could have had the elixir…but really at lvl 13 if you can’t outrun him you are done.
I will do HC again, but would rather enjoy the game first.
I think, they want everyone to play druid lol.
Sometimes I wonder if people depend a bit too heavily on Build Guides instead of working with whatever gear and synergies they find. It makes changes feel worse, if you are not used to adapting as you go.
Just a thought about it…
I am glad it is not like D2 release where you could not respec. At all.
The question I would like to know is, if no one complained on the forums would they have made these changes? Same thing goes for the streamers show casing these builds; would these nerfs take place if X and Y above did not happen.
out of precious mana … again!
thats the strategy. not buff druid, but make every other class so bad that druid looks a good idea.
I barely noticed the nerfs on my Sorc, gamers cry about anything and need to git gud already.
if they buff every build then power creep becomes a real issue.
yeah that would be bad in an ARPG.
it was bad in a arpg, D3 was hot garbage by the end.
Yes, they would have made the changes.
That does get more exposure faster, I don’t deny that.
The mistake here is thinking that the player feedback alone is what results in game balance changes. It is actually the smaller part of the equation.
- They have a concept of how they want the game balanced between classes, leveling, boss fights, etc.
- They collect a TON of data through the actual game. They know exactly how many people are playing which spec, with what skills, fighting what mobs, and doing X damage/dying, etc.
- They collect that data so that they can review it and compare it against the metrics they have in mind for balance or other goals.
- That data, along with player feedback, watching vids, etc contributes to overall change decisions.
You can blame most of it on the initial goals and the millions of data points collected via the game for the most part. Again, streamers or the forums only draws more attention, it does not cause the changes or move the end goal the Devs had.
We can expect a lot more changes between now and Season 1 I would assume. There is no way to replicate millions of people playing live and that glut of data will result in lots of analysis and adjustments.
See, you know what is going on. I think most people know this in the back of their head, they think coming here to cry me me me is going to get the devs to just do what they want. The devs know what they want for the game they designed.
I don’t appreciate the nasty comment. I did not use a build guide, and I am proud of that fact. I made a character, blizz nerfed the character, and it is natural to be unhappy with a loss of progression after days of grind. I was able to make changes on my skill tree to compensate somewhat, but it is not fun when I already optimized my legendary aspects around particular set of skills. There is not way to get the legendary items that I scrapped for upgrade materials back.
What an obtuse, presumptuous comment from you about me, MissCheetah.
Once you are level 50 on hardcore there is not way to synergize a blizzard nerf… its a permanent loss of power.
Just trying to add feedback on changes in the games, as the devs continue to request from the community. I submit bug reports too.
Welcome to open beta reality, my friend. They killed my Ball lightning proc sorc aswell with that nerf.
You really do not need to use chat gpt to respond.
