You canāt make a new season based around Nahantu because a lot of people still havenāt bought VoH
.
Even if you roll Nahantu into the base game in the next expansion, seasons will always be 1 expansion behind the current expansion with this model
.
The ongoing story should be mostly set in the current expansion
.
You need to come up with a practical solution to this issue so that we can get a Nahantu-themed season sometime this expansion
.

Itās not Blizzardās fault that people didnāt buy the expansion.
Thatās a player problem, one that is easily solved. If you canāt access the new content because itās in expansion zones you canāt access then tough cookies. Buy the expansion.
When Blizzard added new or updated content in Diablo 3 that was only accessible if you owned Reaper of Souls, people bought Reaper of Souls.
When Blizzard added new or updated content in Diablo 2 that was only accessible if you owned Lord of Destruction, people bought Lord of Destruction.
Why do you think you shouldnāt have to buy Vessel of Hatred to access new stuff exactly?

I do not disagree with you but there is a small nuance to it.
see when they released D2 LoD or D3 RoS they added a lot of new stuff. But they took āNOTHINGā out of the base game.
In D4 as soon as seasons are gone from Vanilla D4 you basicly have a inferio version to what you initialy bought.
As i said i do not disagree with you it is normal that ADDons get released and people should buy it if they like the game.
As i said, a small nuance.

And D4 has taken nothing out of the base game and forced you to buy an expansion to get access to it.
Every season thus far has not required you to own Vessel of Hatred. Not even the current season, as boring as it is, because Realmwalkers would appear in zones both in Nahantu and in the zones made in the base game. Even the NPC that youād turn in your grindable rep to was in Zarbinzet, not Nahantu.
You only needed to buy Vessel of Hatred if you wanted access to the Spiritborn (in the same way you needed to buy Lord of Destruction if you wanted access to the Druid and the Assassin in D2, and Reaper of Souls if you wanted access to the Crusader in D3), the Nahantu zones and the storyline for the expansion. Thatās it.
Even the upcoming season doesnāt seem to require Vessel of Hatred as itās themed around the Tree of Whispers, which is not located in Nahantu.
But in the event that they do create content, like new zones that require Vessel of Hatred to access? Well tough cookies, buy the expansion. Itās not that big of an ask.

I know. Wasnāt this a hypothetical discussion in case they do?
Seems Blizzard can do what they want with seasons.
If you donāt have VoH thatās on you not them.
VoH should be cheaper now. But if you donāt want to buy it, sucks to be you if the season(s) theme involves VoH content.
Also tissues are cheap.

What are you gibbering about? The season is based around the tree of whispers, which is not in nahantu and there will be many zones to grind your witch powers.
Is there something hidden in the season journey that requires nahantu?

Ill take it
I pre ordered the expansion the day it was available so it doesnt matter to me. Im just curious if there was any validity to the OP or if this more fake outrage from the usual suspects.

The not so subtle hint from Blizzard is ābuy the expansionā.

What part of the season requires the expansion? Honest question.

If I recall, all season will be base game; if anything, like they did with Helltide by adding a second zone at the same time as an alternate option, I could see them doing the same with seasonal.
The only things locked behind VoH that will be helpful but not mandatory are the runes, Merc, and Spiritborn.
As the season is based on Whisper Tree, which is a base game area⦠So to assume it is Voh only is 100% wrong. You can find witch powers in Dungeons and the Pit, which is yet again based on base game mechanics.

Time to buy then?
You donāt get content if you donāt have it.
Seems very simple

Forcing became OKAY when the players allowed Blizzard to FORCE an Internet connection in order to play single player. Why do you think they made D2 Resurrected? So they can now force an internet connection to play single play there too. I call this Online Tyranny but yet 80% of players see this as okay and its a mystery to me.
omg⦠look how angry you are.
Maybe the Devās want people to buy the Expansion to experience anything in that area. It is a business trying to make money after all.
I mean, if you donāt want to buy the expansion thatās fine, you can still play the season in the main area (like Season 6).
You should put in an application for D 4 since you think you know whats best for the business.

These usual suspects are usually Elites who want the game to be so hard no one can play it peacefully without dying every 5 seconds . Its not that way yet but im waiting for it
Except an internet connection is not forced for D2R.
You need to have authenticated with the Blizzard servers at least once every 30 days. Once youāve done that, then you can play D2R completely offline. You obviously will not have access to any online services, however, including ladder play since there is no offline ladder.
