I have a feeling this could create some insane self-healing/massive aoe type gameplay. Whenever you spawn blood orbs you can basically consume it by hitting it with a lance and it’ll fire another lance out. So if you throw this into a big group of mobs I can forsee a pretty massive chain reaction happening from it.
The orbs are pretty small and subsequently I bet their hit boxes for the spear are too. I think it has the potential to be awesome. Blood Spear is not very strong to begin with so it will probably take considerable investment to be viable. Mob density is going to make it good in situations but not great against bosses.
Blood spear was incredibly strong and almost on par with bone spear in NM dungeons. It was so strong it was causing the game to crash and the devs were forced to fix it…
Blood Spear will probably be the best necromancer spec or a close second to the shadowmancer build people are theorycrafting atm. I feel like bone spear will fall off a lot harder and have more issues.
I have the aspect, when I used it it didn’t feel that strong,
But, I don’t have a min/maxed build for it.
you think bone spear will fall off? It still does millions of damage, and shreds uber lilith.
If blood/shadow surpass it NecroSorcerer is looking good!!!
This makes for an interesting question - what is the ‘absorb’ range for Blood Lance to consume a blood orb?
So yeah best setup for this is Howl From Below. You don’t want to actually use the blood orbs for healing because the quills will turn the orbs into the spears for damage. You use the aspect that gives you a chance to spawn blood orbs on consumption of a corpse, which Corpse Explosion does, and Howl from Below interacts with. Howl from Below is better than just activating CE because it homes in on the mob and then leaves behind a nice blood orb 
Oh man is the range long. I have the aspect and was playing in the open world, on an ultrawide, and blood lances were flying in from blood orbs I’d left off screen. Feels good.
