"You can't play Diablo yet" - This is what it says when I click to play Diablo. whyyyy

I’ve been playing Diablo 4 since it’s launch on PC. For some reason, this week when I tried to log in, it’s not saying “you can’t play Diablo yet”. I looked around the internet and I can’t find any information on this. Can anyone explain why!??!

I have this problem occasionally. for me its has to do with gamepass. If i exit the Xbox App and exit Battle.net client and then start Xbox app first and relog into battle.net using Xbox acct it resolves it for me

thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it didn’t work. I recently cancelled my game pass account so I wonder if that has something to do with it? It shouldn’t though, because I never played it or downloaded it through the xbox app. Only ever played it through the blizzard app. I just want to play the game I paid for!!! Super frustrating. Hopefully somebody at blizzard can help me out.

Yeah if you bought it in a way not connected to Gamepass that shouldn’t impact it.

You will need to open a support ticket to get their assistance:

-Get Help - Blizzard Support

Please note, you will need to log in with your battlenet account to see that page.

any luck? ive been having same issue and they just send me stuff that doesnt work and they say tickets resolved which it is not. it

Have you gone to battle.net website logged in with same account you are logging into battle.net client with and checked to see if it shows a license for the game?

How would i see to show license for game? Ive went to the website its self and it shows in my games library and says active

ok yeah in library was the indicator I was talking about

Yep its there and says active. Got kicked out of game last night and it just show play button but says cant play yet. Ive done everything as suggested from my ticket they responded. Lastly they said teach out to the forums and ask lol. Like its the communities job to fix blizzard errors

Ooof.

Things I would try:

Log out of Battle.net launcher.
Uninstall the battle.net launcher. Make sure you do a restart of Windows afterward. (not shut down, but choose restart)

After it reboots, delete any remaining Battle.net folders. There should be ones under:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\
  • C:\ProgramData\
  • C:\Users\ (your account)\AppData\Local\
  • C:\Users\ (your account)\AppData\Roaming\

Delete each Battle.net folder you find. The first one should always be visible, but the rest are normally hidden. You can type the path of the folder and it will open using the Run option (Windows key + R) or by typing it into the navigation bar at the top of the File Explorer window.

Then go to the Blizzard website and re-download the Battle.net app and install it. Log back into your account. If your games aren’t found automatically, you can click “Locate the game” below the Install button and browse to where the game(s) are installed. By default these games install to the C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder.
Once found, run a Scan and Repair before you try to launch the first time.

Then see if it will run after that. If not, I would see if you are able to install and run the game on a different system (as a test) to see if it would work okay. If not, it has to be account related and no amount of file shuffling will help.

As an afterthought.

You aren’t trying to run the PTR version are you? Nevermind, that would just give you a server not found message.

Wow thank you so much. I have tried most of that to no avail. I shall try this way specifically and in order. And no not the ptr version. I uninstalled that for now. Theyre telling me now after months of playing i only own it on steam which is nonsense. I own it on all 4 platforms. Xbox and ps steam and battle.net. Ive been playing since June thru battle.net and they are trying to tell me i dont have access to the Bnet version which is complete bs.

Sounds to me that changing the Microsoft gamepass status has somehow affected the game’s licensing. Which is something none of us here can solve.

Chances are, the steps I outlined won’t help but its all I can think to suggest.
