Yesterday was a game changer for many

Thats true. It was also my biggest gripe. The lost of randomized world design. That was a huge draw to previous installments. I will say I liked D1’s version where you only had one hub, and everything, and i mean EVERYTHING was below the church. That was a nice dungeon crawl and when you unlocked a shortcut it felt legendary.

Make the world static and the same everywhere barring some dungeons felt like a massive step in the wrong direction. Along with seeing other players. id rather feel along in my world with a world chat than see a bunch of people to be honest.

And Last Epoch, Grim Dawn, Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, Torchlight Infinite, and every other ARPG out there.

What blows my mind is that they KNEW about the stash tab/inventory issues causing lag and STILL went with this garbage design. There must be some non negotiable demands from the monetization team driving that decision.

They also marketed it as a PC first game and we got a console port.

There’s no such thing as PC first anymore - not from AAA at least. Publishers only care about what’s cheap.

That said, console first is great for gamers, considering that Nvidia believes their video cards are worth $1500. My xbox runs d4 at perfect 60fps. That’s good enough for me. I own both PC and console editions and there’s no benefit to PC other than being able to alt tab out to go look at the external websites you need just to play this hunka.

PoE has and PoE2 will continue to have, it’s own problems as well.

We’ll see what D4 grows into over the next 1-2 years when they push a new marketing campaign to show everyone how much better the game has become and to come back (since you own it anyway).

Thanks, ChatGPT.

None of these are AAA. THQ nordic is maybe borderline, but the others are far from AAA. Sega by its own admission isn’t AAA “yet”.

Yeah I was a little weirded out by that. I enjoyed the time I had with d4, till the patch, and saw how the battlepass was handled. I really wasnt comfy seeing other people in my game. Like I liked how in d1,2,3 you could clear an area, then leave you pc and go get a snack, do some chores or something, and not worry about being murdered due to respawns.

which is why I feel they should have made the game look like wow. if they wanted wow, they should have made it wow.

ofc, we’re almost done with our season and it was a blast. Now we just hanging around in other forum with the whiteknights that should play their loved game instead of hanging here around with us…says a lot about your game

D2 was the king of the hill because it was the only one on the hill.
That is not the case anymore. Now Diablo is always trying to just keep up.

Nah, it’s still pretty GOAT. Grim Dawn, D2R, PoE still best in class arpg.

chain lightning is gonna feel good now. the biggest issue I had was mana. if I was fighting one guy it was fine because mana per bounce but groups suck. now it will feel good do more dmg and chain more times. I’m actually excited to test it all out.

I didn’t use chatGPT I googled it and your entire argument fell through and now you are trying to debate what company is a AAA company and what isn’t.

Sega was a AAA company long before you were probably born. They fell off some time later due to sega cd/dreamcast era where cd’s were still to expensive for the time. Then few years down the road when cd’s became cheaper PlayStation came out and was a huge hit putting Sega outta business for a long time. They are now coming back and showing they are still the same powerhouse company they were 30 years ago.

THQ Nordic is a well known AAA company thats released well known games like Darksiders series.

Just stop please. I destroyed your argument about there not being AAA games that are PC exclusive anymore and all you are doing is adding to the fact that you have no idea what you are talking about.

For a short time. There were many aRPGs made shortly after, and lots had very innovative ideas, from Dungeon Siege to NoX to X-Men Legends.

EDIT: NoX was actually released before D2, heh.

Imagine if you were writing this about another ARPG, a time before D4, and pointing to D4 and saying the same thing that you are about POE2 now. Did they specifically say that in the video? How can you know until you’ve seen the weaknesses of their engine first hand?

This isn’t the dunk you think it is.

I’m excited for Path of Exile II but making it its own separate game is questionable. Path of Exile already struggles to maintain some semblance of balance underneath its bloat and over-developed systems. Imagine having to do that for two separate games now.
