These yellow items are only useful until you reach level 15-20 by which point all of your items will be legendary. Even in T4 they drop from bosses, whisper caches, mother gifts… i mean why not remove them completely or at least make them all legendary. This is just stupid.
I just sell them. It’s another way to get gold and it helps new players out with gold .
yeah they just should remove them. Makes 0 sense.
Well, They could give us a loot filter if anything. I wish we had a loot filter.
Yes. Since they choose this dumb route with loot 2.0, white/blue/yellow items should just drop as piles of gold & material now instead.
There is no joy in acting like the cleaning service of sanctuary.
Perhaps a change coming in 2.0. might have been a bigger overhaul of the loot system than we all thought.
Hopefully they will do something with them at some point
I am happy with that. It is a major pain to have to look through yellow items for upgrades. If they just add a loot filter then we would be good. You sell them/break them early on. Then filter them out later.
I used them when leveling a new character, especially when leveling an alt. You can put the extra life tempers on them, just like you can on legendaries, and adding 400 extra life to a lvl 10 or lower character is godly, especially in HC.
This is generally how games with loot tiers work.
I think the idea is if you don’t get an upgrade for a tier x item for enough levels then even a tier x-1 at a higher level might be stronger.
But D4 doesn’t actually work like that nor do most loot games if I’m being honest, so it really just seems like a silly holdover at this point.
Lower rarity items weren’t supposed to be dropping anymore in higher World tiers. Instead additional gold and crafting materials were supposed to drop.
But there’s something buggy in the system and often low rarity items still drop. Hopefully this will get resolved.
“Blue items are completely useless”
“White items are completely useless”
“Useless items are completely useless”
“Useless items in every game are useless”
Yes.
yes, they are useless and that’s why the game still needs better itemization. making all items legendary sucks because they won’t be legendary they will be normal items only (there will only be them and they will be the basic ones). nowadays I don’t even see the need to have the shine and sound of the legendaries
I pick them up and salvage them and then I dont come to the forums to complain I dont have enough leather or ore.
I expect there to be changes in the expansion.
I really liked how yellows were prior to S4. Where you’d have 3 stats on them, often I’d find a yellow item with the 3 stats I needed most for a build and I liked being able to slap the orange bonus on turning it legendary. They’d be more useful if characters didn’t level up as fast since theyre good early on but not for very long. It is annoying doing some end game content and having so many yellows drop but at least you can get some gold for them. I agree a loot filter would be great.
While I agree they’re useless, I like the gold I get from them, and I wouldn’t want to lose that gold if they were removed.
So I would only be OK with removing them if gold drops were increased by a corresponding amount to compensate.
Welcome to season 2…
I try to not pick up blue or yellow items but even doing that i have to visit the blacksmith every few minutes which totally destroys the gameflow.
During Maiden events i run into a corner and empty my pockets from all the stuff i accidently picked up.
With how fast you level and the weakness of rares it would not hurt my feelings to just remove them as drops but keep them on vendors in case you really need them. Then double or triple the offerings of vendors so new players that really do need these can get them and then drop the price 95%.
Incorrect. Yellow item salvge into much needed ores and shards and such. Once you get to the end game rolling stage these are the things you need the most. I got tons of gold without trading a single thing (100+million for a 15 min t7 makes gold extremely easy to come by). I got plenty of Masterworking mats (again a 15 min t7 gives me ~625 Neath). My biggest bottleneck is Ores (would/will be leathers too once my weapons are done being rolled).
