When I open my season menu, and unlock the accelerated battle pass, it shuts off my xbox completely. I turned it back on and xbox says it auto shut down due to over heating. This only happens with Diablo 4.

I have the exact same problem.
I clicked “unlock accelerated battle pass”
I can hear everything starting to unlock, then the screen goes black, and my Xbox (one S) turns off. When I power back on it has an error message that the Xbox shut down due to improper ventilation. This has never happened on my Xbox before for any game.
Ever time I go into the battle pass menu, the process starts over with items starting to unlock then the screen goes black.

Same issue here seriously need a fix
Ok i found a temp solution.
Fully exit diablo 4 and go to home screen. Then you have to force shut down your system. Push and hold in the power button for 30 sec. Then, unplug power cable and let xbox sit for 5 to 10 minutes unplugged. Then plug back in and boot back up. I did this and diablo 4 has worked fine. No more random shut offs for now. Season menu works fine. Report back if this helps
