XBox Elite Controller

I am thinking about dropping $100 on the Elite Controller for my Series S. But before I do, I would like to know if any of you have one already and how it performed in D4.

Specifically, can you map your skills to the extra paddles?

Did it perform better than your bog standard controller?

What is your experience with the Elite Controller and D4?

Thanks in advance.

I have owned both versions of the Elite and the paddles just map to the A,B,X,Y buttons you dont get any extra buttons you are still limited to the same # of buttons as a normal Xbox controller.

I played the first D4 open beta level 3 characters to 25.

I use a Razer Wolverine Ultimate and can map any input to any button, paddle or extra bumper. The controller layout is a bit awkward at first though so see if you can get it in your hands and feel if it would be right for you first. Paddle placement is harder to reach for small hands and the extra two bumpers can also be hard to reach depending how you grip the controller.

What I like most about it though is the trigger locks and the buttons have a very short mouse click action to them. You have to play wired though. Not something that bothers me at all but some people absolutely want that freedom of wireless.

Works fine. Another plus is I can also connect it to my Ipad and stream game over Xbox app and still use the controller to play.

I have the Xbox Series X and the Elite 2 controller, and it maps to a TON of buttons. You are also able to use a “Shift” key button as well, to add addition functionality. It’s worth it.

The paddles are mapped to the other buttons - it doesn’t allow you add anything extra or have additional functionality in Diablo IV on a console (not sure about PC).

That being said, it makes life a lot easier for someone like me who has small hands and dexterity issues. Also, it really helps being able to adjust the tension on the thumbsticks and triggers and trade out the type of thumbstick I am using.

I can’t speak on D4, but I -can- say, my Elite controller did not last nearly as long as a cheap Afterglow controller. Less than six months in, and the rubber padding on it was coming unglued…very, extremely cheaply made.

But it’s wired and it doesn’t have paddles.

I also had issues with my elite controller except the left bumper went out after 18 months. I am just sticking to normal controller since I don’t want my controller to randomly go out, and if it doesn’t go out I’m out $60 instead of $180.

I have used mine with no issues prior to two patches back in late June. That patch made the game unplayable but I don’t think it has anything to do with the controller.

I truly think that it is a better controller hands down from the stock one. I have no regrets buying mine.
