Hello. I just wanted to report the Xbox series x controller drift. I can’t figure out a pattern, but my character will glitch, move in the wrong direction, often “rubber band” back away from where I wanted him to go. Makes play impossible. Turning everything off and restarting seems to fix it about 50% of the time. This is a new system with new (less than 2 weeks) old controllers. No lag or drift in any other games. Won’t be doing hardcore until this is fixed, so I hope it gets attention.
I am actually going through the same thing. I thought maybe it’s my controller but I played other games with no drift. Hope it does get resolved
Same with me! Drifts often upwards, using portals and stuff can be tedious
Im getting the exact same thing i have tested the pad and no drift in any other games. The character will keep walking up untill i nudge the left analogue to stop it and if i leave the character faceing up while stationery he will wander off on his own after a minute or so which can be a nightmare when waiting for a world boss. And agreed portals are problematic.
i have the same probleme. my controller drift up/downwards
- Controller drift is an issue with the controller, not the game.
- A common cause of controller drift are dirty sensors in the thumb sticks.
- Take apart your controller, gets some 91% alcohol and a q-tip and clean the sensors (electronic parts cleaner is better if you have it). Once you have cleaned them with the q-tip, rinse with alcohol again.
- Put your controller back together.
- Your drift issues should be gone.
- If not, time to buy a new controller.
Im having the exact same issue. Its not my controller. Its a brand new one and I dont have this issue anywhere else. Ive tried to find out more but Blizzard seems to be pretty indifferent on the problem. I cant enjoy the game at all so I feel like I’ve wasted a lot of money. If they dont fix the problem then Im just going to have to shelf the game.
Similar issue with PS5 controller. Item menues are the worst and drifting to the left. Many more had this problem I read on Reddit.
I think this cam be solved by some deadzone value. Please fix this Blizzard and keep up the good work.
I’m not having this issue, but I figured I could offer some input.
I’m pretty sure there’s an option under controls, that let’s you set your deadzone. This should help, if it is a controller issue.
For more information on deadzones, you can find plenty about it on the internet. I recommend increasing it ever so slightly, until your controller no longer drifts after pressing a direction and letting the analog snap back.
I can also confirm this is not a controller issue. I’m on my second brand new Xbox elite series 2 controller. Both only have drift while playing D4 on PC launched from BN, not sure about steam. This is 100% confirmed with third party software i used on my other monitor. The drift only happens while playing D4. It is only up and down drift on the left stick. Adjusting the deadzone won’t matter cause the drift will continue until outside the set deadzone and then you will walk into death while AFK. This for sure needs a patch.
Use the gamepad-detector website and see for yourself. Stop telling people to buy new controllers. It’s the game.
Same with me. My remote is only 3 months old and this is the only game I have with drift. It’s gotten worse and it prevents me from teleporting because my character won’t stay still long enough. I’ve tried adjusting the dead zone with no relief. This is really frustrating and I hope Blizzard actually looks into it.
Brand new controller ( XBOX one ) , traded for a new one after hours of troubleshooting and being told that the controller is the issue even though it works perfectly fine on every other game I own …
Second remote , same thing …
!!! Battle.net , the controller is not the issue !!!
Steam is closed on my PC , everything is optimal for it to work correctly based on what your company has posted on the subject … I tried every setting for the dead zones in controller settings also tried recalibrating , redownloding the game even … Two controllers and one game later , I cant even use an emote or teleport normally or trade or anything that requires my character to not move during channeling time …
Ive also tried unplugging my keyboard and mouse from my PC to see if that would help … and still nothing …
Could you please at least acknowledge that there is an issue instead of blaming the controller. Im not sure what more proof you guys need to understand that there is a massive issue , but not for everyone , and answer one question for the rest of us that spent a lot to have fun playing your game and is just dissapointed …
Why did both NEW controllers work on EVERTHING , except for your game ??
I have multiple friends that have this issue and also friends that dont. Maybe a model of controller ?
(Mine controllers are both , Xbox series X/S Stellar shift special edition)
Hello! I have an Xbox Elite core controller and I am experiencing similar issues. Once I got the game, I noticed some drift, nothing crazy at first, just decided to deal with it.
However, now after the update, I played yesterday (7/18) for a bit and now I cannot go down. Its very strange! I tried to play with my original Xbox controller and everything worked fine! Then I tried my Core controller on another game and the controller worked perfectly fine.
This is a weird bug!
same problem with xbox elite v2 & v1. it was annoying but todays patch made it much more frequent and its barely playable.
Same problem with my gamepad (XSX). Only happens with D4.
Same problem here. My character moves without my help. Just AFK mode…
This is also an issue on the PC. I’m just wondering how many years will go by until its fixed?
That’s crazy that this still isn’t fixex. Same problem two years later with two brand new Xbox elite series 2 controllers.
This just started happening for me, right after last Tuesday’s patch. The controller is less than 1 year old, and no issues with it on any other game. Symptoms are when I stop pushing in a direction and joy stick is in the center sometimes the character will continue to move for a few seconds.
Edit: My issue was resolved by replacing the controller.
So I wanted to try out Diablo Immortal after Season 6 of D4 was a rather short experience thanks to the OP Spiritborn class.
I have exactly the same issue like everyone in this thread: my Xbox for PC controller - which does not show this behavior in any game - constantly walks me to the left making it near impossible to play.
