Sorry if this is not new but I’m using the Yax-Xan setup for guaranteed overpowers on lightning spear except it only works about half the time. Very often it just doesn’t work at all until I leave the area. I’m really careful about how I time spear after I see the “Gained Xan”, but more often than not it simply makes no difference. It will also occasionally stop working despite continuous spear spamming, and it will not reactivate from there, forcing me to leave the higher pits. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue.
You are probably using force of the will above level 3. it can mess up the overpower. Also, hexes which do direct damage and aren’t debuffs also disturb the snapshot. Use the cycle (the flower thing, only appears if you kill something) and hex of whispers instead of hex of flames (the others are grow, aura of siphoning, aura specialization, soul harvest). Get vulnerable through Thul rune. To active the paragon node, cast flame shield once before hitting lightning spear. Once, you get it to work, use Rahir as your primary merc because he can grant you % armor and fortify for the overpower. Last but not least, no potting afterwards.
