WW barb has been left in shambles

I’m level 96 and honestly it’s frustrating to even play my barb atm. I don’t think people who haven’t been playing WW since the start realize how bad it got. And we’re not talking damage numbers here, it’s the playstyle that got gutted. I’ve been a Barb player since the start of D3 and decided to pick the Barb again for that fast paced and fun playstyle that was there at the start and just isn’t anymore due to nerfs on top of nerfs. The situation now is even worse due to the disabled powers… As I was saying I just get frustrated playing to the point I’ve barely touched the game in the past couple days.

I’m not saying balance changes shouldn’t happen, if something is OP it obviously deserves to get tuned down (for example the WW unique gloves) but this… I don’t know who in their right mind would gut a build like this IN THE FIRST WEEK of the game without doing anything to keep the playstyle of the build togheter. It’s like they torn it apart and just left it there.

A better way to approach this kind of situation IMO would be to take your time until S1 to figure out a good way to make adjustments to the build and THEN you make the changes. Not just nuke the playstyle of a build and leave it in shambles like you don’t give a damn.

What you don’t like being fury starved?

You are expecting a bit too much from this team of flunkies bro. These are the same people who thought putting the race to 100 in HC before S1 was a good idea. So most of the names on the board abused bugs and design issues to get there. Might as well call it Alter of Exploitation and not the Alter of Lillith.

That stupid get your name on a statue thing sent the wrong message that being level 100 was the primary thing to value. I think they shot themselves in the foot with that.

Meanwhile the first Uber Lilith HC kill was a WW barb.

It’s not even about being fury starved, at the point where I am with resource gen on ring / most paragons unlocked / fury cost reduction on neck and boots fury is OK (with tons of investments mind you), the problem is you also have to invest HARD into shout uptime due to all the nerfs starting from the beta (with the removal of CDR on shouts being removed from the game as a stat) up to the absolutely insane nerf to the shouts CDR legendary power who got massacred.

And even after investing hard into resource generation and shouts uptime it still feels like crap to play cause the CD on shouts is inconsistent and RNG heavy (due to the unique chest effect which reduces their CD on lucky hit procs).

It’s mind boggling to think how good it felt to play the build a week ago, and now I don’t even feel like playing the class anymore…

You can just stop right here. The whole class relies on shouts being up, otherwise it is donkey. It is very poor class design.

Yeah thanks to an exploit that got removed hours after it happened.

Which btw resulted in the build playing even worse cause we are missing two legendary powers now.

Cmon bro, the lilith shenanigans aren’t the point here, as I said in the post… the issue here is not damage numbers

Barb is in a really sorry state all around. It has powerfull cd’s and exceptional durability. But that’s it. Barbarian aoe capacity is very weak and builds that can’t group enemies effectively are left in the dust by WW.

So many classes have dead core skills/ultimates, and other abilities because they effectively don’t produce effective damage in AOE form. It feels terrible running around as a barbarian and sorc/rogues/necros are killing everything in 360 radius before you can even get to it.

It feels like barbarians were made to be played solo or only in a group of other barbarians.

I hear you.

I’ve been building a duel wielding attack speed / berserk / HOTA build. I shifted to trying WW the other night after getting a nice weapon roll with it. It worked alright when I could stay in mob density to continually regen fury to hold it.

But I went back to my speedy berserk HOTA stun dive build and have more fun with that when doing dungeon runs with my rogue buddy.
This build has me paying more attention to what’s going on throughout the engagements, lunging and stunning here and there or berserk focusing.

Only shout I have is the fury Regen one. Works fine so far.

I really do wish they were less concerned with “keeping us in line” and more with letting their players just have fun. I got a day and a half into the game having a blast before the party ended and Blizzard came in with the nerf wrecking ball. Ever since it’s been worry and anxiety about what is next. Not just for the Barbarian either, things are getting nerfed left and right.

Such a frustrating way to have to experience a game you’ve been looking forward to for ages. I don’t see the need to micro manage the player experience to the extent they have to THEIR play expectations. It’s just a crappy way to treat your playerbase.

Yeah, exactly. Everyday I open the forum wondering what will get nerfed today. I assume next on the list is make more dungeons less fun by removing density and making it even harder for people to level up. Maybe they could look into nerfing to the ground that new Werewolf Druid build that has been getting some attention lately?

This a 1000x times over. Honestly every class feels pretty meh right now. Have 3 in the endgame grind loop in WT4 (Nightmares or dung loot cave farming). Everything just feels so intolerably slow. Being totally resource starved and spamming a basic attack that does nothing for 10 seconds to then again spam a core for 1 second is just annoying. The mount is jarring af. My sorc with Esu’s legit feels faster and better to move around on then the horse. Only 2 classes that dont feel so damn bad and jarring to play is rogue and druid. Blows my mind that end game classes in full leggos, by design, are resource starved and reemphised by constant nerfs.

It wasn’t an exploit, I’m talking about Ben who killed HC Lilith after the nerf to aspects.

The first player on hardcore to kill Uber Lilith was a WW Barb. Not a Sorc or any other class. Barb. Which means that WW is still a top end build after nerfs.

Edit: My bad I didn’t realize this was using Edgemaster stacking before nerf. I just saw something about the HC kill yesterday and didn’t realize it was from 3 days ago.

I agree WW from start and tbh i wanna switch toons but its already been hell just getting to 63.

The main issue with barb is that, a lot of people are right, they can do pretty much just as good as any other class, the issue is, the effort needed to be as good as other classes is WAY more then anything else.

On top of that with them constantly nerfing us its no wonder most people turn away from it. Truth be told though, i highly suspect barb is going to get the D3 treatment and get some sort of passive damage resistance built in.

Im glad it only took me 50 levels to figure out barb just wasnt fun. =)

Blizzard doesn’t care about you or your character. They have no respect for time spent playing a character or build.
