Wudijo Got 2 Sacred Items as reward for HC tier 100 NM Dungeon

Blizz please fix the rewards for high tier content. Higher tier content should provide better quality drops. Maybe sacred items shouldn’t drop in tier 60+ dungeons. If this doesn’t show that the loot system is broken IDK what will.

Classic example of how unrewarding these things are.

1st it is crazy that wudijo completed HC tier 100 NM… congz to him.
2nd wt(f) is this… two sacred items for HC tier 100 NM reward… while rewarding 140+shakos to exploits?

Make this game BALANCE and FAIR for both reward and game mechanics.

No item should have a 1:800,000 chance of dropping. Nothing is tuned correctly in D4.

  • No target framing other than gambling
  • Uber Unique impossible to obtain during a 3 month season
  • Some build enabling Aspects are impossible to get (Umbral)
  • Some build enabling Uniques are impossible to get (TR)
  • Items are level locked so they can’t be passed down to Alts
  • No trade economy
  • Weak rewards for completing some of the hardest content
  • 14 million cost to respect a character
  • Elites that can stun lock you until they kill you
  • Fun Police in full effect

Nothing is tuned correctly.

Insert everything is fine here gif with room on fire.

Says the trolls.

Me on the other hand i think this is the 2nd biggest issue with d4 more difficult less rewarding drops and dont forget you only allowed to fight mobs 3 levels higher for xp gains so you cant even get big rewards for xp by doing higher nm d its silly.

Another HC tier 100 clear and the reward was a sacred rare…

That’s working as intended. If you lock better gear behind GR150 type stuff, you lose a lot of players. The best gear in the game and the best way to get that gear should be something that you can start doing around level 70. They actually did a good job with that in this game. But they have failed by actually not filling out the item pool with anything interesting. The only challenge should be speed and efficiency of that farming method. Not turning the game into Elden Ring.

And I knew eSports type posts would start popping up like this. It was the same answer to d3’s problems. Soon there will be talk of adding timers to things and we’ll be right back where we started with that game.

You think getting sacred rares in a tier 100 dungeon is working as intended?!

Yes, sometimes you kill a boss and you get trash loot. RNG for that to happen is very commonplace in a loot hunter ARPG.

The trick is to farm what you can farm efficiently. Increase the number of RNG attempts, that way you end up with better items in the end.

High tier NM dungeons shouldn’t offer better loot. But just novelty purposes for ladder perhaps.

How can I dislike this post. I strongly dislike everything about this post. This post is very bad.

Yes, unfortunately for this game, two different demographics are vying for two different ways to go about Diablo. I don’t consider Diablo 3 a true Diablo game, whereas I’m sure you believe it is probably the best one. This is the fault of Blizzard since they made two Diablo games that are almost diametrically opposed to each other in how they work.

I disagree. There have to be boundaries with loot and it can’t all be straight up RNG. Killing level 100+ monsters should not reward you with sacred items that are good for level 60 players. I’m no world is that tuned correctly.

You can increase rewards for doing higher tier content while also making it possible to acquire those things in a more casual setting. Right now there really is no value in engaging in the games hardest content - the reward for doing so is nowhere near commensurate with the effort it takes. I understand where you are coming from - there just need to be a balance somewhere.

I don’t know, I would consistently kill the highest level content in Diablo 2 and get whites and what would qualify as normal and sacred rares. It was perfectly fine. I just farmed these things quickly and efficiently, and came out with some very good gear in the end.

Rng is rng.

Well the key variable is efficiency. Would you get more and better items from farming higher tier content versus somewhat lower tier content? It seems to me that you are suggesting this should be the case. I am arguing against it because all that does is raise the bar to where the meta becomes tier 100.

So what pace will that meta be? An absolute slog? ARPG players generally aren’t interested in slogfests for every second of their gameplay.

Which means Blizzard will have to walk in power creep until everyone is farming tier 100 fairly quickly from the near get-go of a season. And we are back at the same problem D3 had.

I think people aren’t recognizing how Groundhog Day this is.

I believe they need to come at this game completely different. And they have the groundwork for that by ensuring farming efficiency isn’t increased by farming tier 100 versus tier 35. That is a necessary variable to avoid the same cyclical black hole you end up with in D3.

Just a quick counter point, Dungeons im D2 were a lot shorter. They didn’t include shades, thunderbolts and multiple mini-quests.

Also, im D4 not only do you have to find the right aspect with good rolls, you also have to find a rare item that has good rolls.

The difference though is that in Diablo 2, those types of mundane drops were palatable because the item pool was light years more diverse and there was a carrot at the end of the stick. Diablo 4 has no Griffons Eye or Jah rune. It has scuffed sacred items, ok ancestral items and once in a generation uniques. There is no OMG drop that happens in Diablo 4 like there is in Diablo 2, so finding “white items” over and over beats you down so much harder. If their philosophy truly is to have outrageously rare items in the game, then there needs to be a legitimate mechanism to acquire them. Just my two cents.

It is called working as intended.

That’s true, which is also why they need to start working on content like that. The counter argument to that would be “then people would just farm the quicker content”. We’ve seen this isn’t true even when we put a champion in the middle of town that you can just reset over and over again. People don’t just farm Pindleskin. And in fact you could go farm ancient tunnels or clear entire terror zones, and then compare items with the guy who was just farming Pindle for a week, and you’d have about the same kind of stuff.

That dynamic is so important because it at least gives the illusion of differentiate content to keep it fresh in the player’s mind.

Basically what I’m saying is that nightmare dungeons shouldn’t be the only way to farm at the highest efficiency. Going that route is only going to bring us back to the same problems we faced over a decade ago.
