With the pits coming and being that pit 150 is the same as aoz t25, wouldn’t it make sense to add a higher world tier level soon?
I don’t know how soon it should be added but with the levels of the pit this only seems to make sense to have this happen sooner rather than later.
Seems like a huge power creep going to be happening with the new update, which is what some do not like.
Adding more difficulty levels like d3 had would only make sense, what do you guys think?

An expansion would add this. Highly doubtful you’d see it before then.
The majority of the power creep coming is really only going to affect the Eternal Realm. The only power creep to speak of in the Seasonal realm will be the transition from rare to legendaries. Everything else pretty much stays the same.

One day or another, it will happen =)
But probably later on!
I don’t think we need a WT5, I think we need to consolidate WT3 or just delete it from the game. Leveling is getting so fast, WT3 is barely going to be needed any longer. You could rework WT2 into WT1, WT3 into WT2, and WT4 into WT3, then have WT4 basically be the endgame world tier for level 100 characters, with enemies at level 154 or something.
Other suggestion I’ve been saying is to add the upcoming Profane Mindcage as a permanent addition to the game, let it be used in all open world content (not just helltide), and most importantly, let us consume multiple of them to raise enemy level by +10 for each one we consume. That way we can more specifically pick our desired difficulty, while still remaining in WT4, and not introduce another difficulty tier for no reason. Too many world tiers just feels bloated and uninspiring to me. However, I guess the big flaw of this approach is sharing the world tier with players who are lower level, yet you’re fighting enemies who are level 200 (for example), would be a bit too much disparity, especially if you add extra rewards or better droprates for higher level enemies, you could then just have the lower level player easily kill everything for you and reap the rewards of level 200 enemies.
I personally hate that we’re going to be so powerful that we can fight level 200 enemies, yet the open world content is stuck with level 100 enemies who won’t be able to deal any damage to you and will die from a basic attack with no weapon but I don’t think a WT5 on top of what we already have is the best answer though. Too many world tiers like that is just boring and uninspiring to me.
That being said, I don’t think Blizzard know any other way, so I’m guessing when the expansion launches, WT5 will be added to the game.

No, either nerf player power or simply raise enemy health.
WT5 is just going to cause people to beg for more power… then WT6…
Doing billions of damage in D3 was already asinine. We don’t need it in D4

They should add another world tier but just with difficulty and maybe some non-unique rewards. We don’t need another tier of gear like ancestral because that’ll just eliminate the entire point of having a more difficult tier and we’ll end up right back where we are now.
All these games have a hard mode and it all it does is increase the difficulty for those who want a challenge. It can’t be that hard.
Naw they should just dial up WT3 and WT4. Having 20 levels of difficulty was lame.

having a ton of different difficulty levels doesnt make sense in an openworld game. there doesnt need to be a new world tier.

Agreed. Though i fo wish WT4 was +10 levels above the players lv to compete with nm dungeons.

Elixir kind of helps this problem, but yea wish it was a permanent change and not just applied to helltides.

thats a good idea sounds perfect
i think the answer is tied to a mindcage like effect.
thats a good point. maybe like the lvl 150 enemy use just like +50% drops, but the lvl 200 one puts you in your own instance and +100% drops, or maybe the party leaders instance is used like world state in a group and the enemies scale to lvl 200 for everyone. maybe tying not grouped players drops based on % enemy health they contributed too. there has to be something, just might be complicated and scrapped
.
def should consolidate some world tiers also though
I don’t see the benefit of adding WT5 as this just creates a new Capstone boss and delay player from reaching the endgame.
Blizzard upgraded the PIT to AOZ level by scale up monster HP matching the highest damage in the game “assuming Necro” so that no one can break the PIT at least few seasons until player accumulated enough power creep. This is just for future proof.
WT5 is just about moving a goal post further with the same content, Blizzard can always upgrade monster HP in PIT further to match the new player damage. Then some players may want WT6 7 8 9 again.
Yes. In the expansion probably.
I don’t see the point of adding wt 5 at all.
The endgame is not in the overworld.
Helltide is not the endgame of the game, it’s mostly for leveling.
The endgame of d4 is nmd, gauntlet, pit - instanced content.
This content scales for higher difficulties.
It really does not matter wether you oneshot everything in helltide or you dont…
could also add multiple helltides active at a time with different leveled mobs. lets say 3 active at once.
normal helltide: enemies +10 levels (dark grey/pale green)
nightmare helltide: enemies +40 levels (purple)
hell helltide: enemies +80 levels (red)
names / zone colors subject to change
and also maybe one stronghold / legion / wb of each also, all at same time, a way to filter out the lower level ones if you don’t want clutter. maybe can disable harder ones in case someone wants to quest in those zones. i guess also something to restrict weaker geared players from joining the hard one cause that would be like low levels in wbs x 1000, maybe tied to solo pit completion or something.
now the strength of having every thing scaled is real freedom but this is probably a really logical option.
Ignorant…
Expanding world difficulty levels like in D3 (T4+) will once again be proven as a demonstration of the team’s insufficient capabilities, necessitating the use of such uninteresting mechanisms as a makeshift solution, which is currently one of the most criticized aspects of D:I!
If D4 follows the same path, it would be better to start developing D5 sooner, rather than wasting resources on another 2.0 version of Diablo 3.0!
The point is, that kind of boring difficulty escalation design merely piles on difficulty without adding any elements that make it fun or enjoyable, causing confusion for newcomers in their choices!
I really wonder if those few genius designers who originally conceived of having 20 world difficulty levels in D3 have been kicked out? Perhaps they’ve already been promoted, huh? lol

I disagree, some people are looking for more difficult content in the game and raising the difficulty in a higher world tier is where people can find that. They aren’t mandatory by any means. One shotting enemies constantly in wt4 gets a bit boring.
If your think you can do better in developing a game why don’t you apply for a job and become a genius developer?
