I’m Sorry guys, but I just have to rant about this. I play this game a lot but ever since Season 2 I’m just chronically out of Veiled Crystals and it’s stressing me out.
I have an infinite abundance of basically every other material except Veiled Crystals. They are more rare to me than Ubers it seems. I can farm all day, do about 10 re-rolls and I’m back to Zero.
Can you guys please either let me convert other materials to Veiled, reduce the Veiled Crystal cost on re-rolls, or maybe increase the drop rate? Thank you.
Early game it can be a roadblock if you upgarde/reroll every single pc of gear you get or your doing the campaign as your first seasonal character.
Im sitting on over 10k which I will likely never use. When they introduced the increase gold from wispers i was salavging instead of selling. Skipping the campaign i had zero issues with veiled crystals.
Ser, I’m happy you got Crystals but I’m not talking about early game.
I’m talking late late game. Like I said, I play this game a bit too much. Got all the ubers and maxed-out chars, just need to re-roll a few items to perfection for OCD reasons & Zir. I just never can because I’m always out.
You just never re-roll? Or do you farm a specific spot?
It’s quite a bottleneck. Period.
FS and VC are and probably always will be a sore point for many.
Often, those who reply with massive qty of X or ‘found everythings’, nothing to see here or ‘whiners want silver platter/handouts’ - they’re not your average players.
Take feedback with a grain of salt.
For those whom I know personally that do have many thousands of X material and play excessively - I always found it odd that for the sheer amount of playtime they have and material accrued - their gear is pretty mid if not trash/confusing in most cases.
Those who play a lot and have material issues tend to have high-end gear that they’ve taken the time to farm and er…“craft” at the Occultist. Likely with many disappointments and moments of futility.
Add in multiple characters and trying for a few GOOD(non perf) rolls…you’re broke.
edit: The Occultist is pretty much trash tier “crafting” - so it’s not a YOU issue.
It’s bad design. That’s all there is to it. Time sinking and Time gating through horrendous ‘player agency’ systems.
Yes, it might just be that the Occultist is just too expensive and/or poorly designed that is the problem.
I mean what I currently do is “The Hallowed Glacier” speedruns. I do a full clear in 1:55min, and this will net you 50-60 Veiled consistently every run (incl. salvage). So roughly ~1650 VC an hour. In my test much better than running T100s or open-world or anything else. And this will still leave me broke lol
It’s not about ‘min maxing’.
It’s the atrocious Occultist.
There was weighting then there wasn’t.
20, 30 or 40+ Rolls for Main Stat is ludicrous on an otherwise perfect item.
That’s bad design.
Disagree what bad game design is you need to look no futher than D3 where you can reroll an unlimited amount of times until your eyes bleed and you get that perfect stat.
Played D3 since launch so please don’t preach it.
It has its own problems.
To not get MAIN Stat on an item after dozens of rolls.
Bad.
Design.
Save your time and efforts - You will not disabuse me of what I see as one of many problems with this game.

The game needs work and refinement. QA, UI etc is a disaster where they opted to not even import from their own I.P.
Yes, “I have X,xxxK of Y, no prob here because I have no problem”. I gloss over such repeated numbers and posts by the same people who seem to feel they must chime in every. single. time.
Sometimes you get it first roll sometimes you dont. RNG is a good design for an aarpg. Yes things get bricked because the cost exceeds what your willing to spend.
Alot of the issue is D3 because it held peoples hands and no one wanted for anything.
Yes D4 has its own issues but rolling isnt one of them since they evened out the costs.
It will be interested to what S4 change in itemization will be but I hope simplified doesnt mean D3 garbage of main stat/cr/crd.
I dont understand fg tbh. Unless someone was buying duriel mats instead of farming for them. Ive maybe grinded 25-30 helltide and im still above 1000 fs.
I understand where you’re coming from. I played one character from June-Nov. Decided to try a new class and continue in Eternal since I have all the items I collected and easier for me to upgrade the new class. Now I have
I’ve been trying stuff with the new class, like maybe this aspect is better on 2H etc. It costs 60 veiled and 24 baleful to imprint on 2H. Why isn’t it the other way around since baleful is guaranteed on salvage. Same with body parts. It costs 15 veiled 4 baleful to convert heart to hand. Same with upgrading gear.
Why not guarantee Veiled on salvage like everything else? I already play everyday, yet this is now a problem for me. It’s very discouraging when you spent so many hours collecting items and can’t upgrade a new item because you’re out of veiled but have an abundance of everything else.
look jimmy you cant be too picky go for all of the attack stats and tell yourself movement speed and dmg is the way to tell hardcore they are expendable at all costs
You can’t just sell everything and still have plenty of veiled crystals like you could before S2. You are going to need to salvage now. Get gold from doing whispers.
