It was a mistake. I corrected the link.
The wowhead story had some pretty convincing evidence it’s happening though. Max lvl being 60, and paragon decoupled ala D3.

I’m not sure D3 fans winning is a good thing. Leveling is becoming less and less meaningful. D3 on hack n slash genre has poor reputation. I really don’t want D3 sets and 16 torment levels again. Overall game seems to be improving but I’m still worried. D3 RoS expansion was an improvement at first but then it went downhill.

Base lv to 60 with squahsed paragon over 40 levels seems nice. It means more stats on the skill tree. Maybe it will become a tree from a twig.

Maybe. But if 60 is the max lvl, that doesn’t give me confidence for a decent leveling experience and character progression to exist. I’m getting massive D3 vibes were you hit 70 in an hour.
Well i mean S5 youll hit lv 100 in 2 hours. Maybe the xpac gives them a chance to flush out the mid game and provide us a different experience to “EnD gAmE sTaRtS aT mAx LeVeL”

Im all for a number squish and level 60 cap as long as item levels remain at a maximum of 925.
I am NOT all for infinite paragon, which they said would never be a thing. Infinite paragon like D3 will ruin this game, there has to be a cap.

I mean its blizzards fault for not having a mid game. I mean even look at D2, mid game was 70-86. Yes you could rush to that midgame but there was still progression within the leveling journy. The WoW/D3 methodology is sad within arpgs.
I also will never understand the “LeVeLiNg IsNt PrOgReSsIoN” crowd because they want max level and then another leveling system after max level.

Number squish is positive.
But if Endless Paragon is back, the transition to D3 is complete. The article does not indicate that at least.
They should always have had separate Lvls and Paragon lvls (50 and 50), exactly because it would be weird to add new skill lvls to the old system (of course, they could simply have not added new skill lvls… but this is Blizzard).
Make lvl 40 the start of endgame (and start of paragon lvling, alongside normal lvls), at 50-55 you can do all endgame, and 60 for a bit extra power to grind for.

You can be sure D3 fans will keep complaining to make paragon levels infinite. As they “lose will to play” at current max level, they will have the same effect when they reach max paragon. This can turn ugly pretty fast. Should have stayed with current more D2 (and every other proper hack n slash) like system.

I mean lets just face it, they want an endless power leveling system so they can bypass getting good gear and/or bypass lack of skill as they want to stand in fire.

For me, it’s impossible to enjoy and ARPG designed this way. I’m not being hyperbolic. I’ve tried it and I hate it. I legitimately feel sad about the game now.

I am only saddened because seasonal gameplay has been cut in half and will continue to get cut until its D3 or they do some course correction.

I am a D3 player and I can say after a certain point the PLs was dumb in season. It promoted botting or no lifing.
What I absolute DID LIKE was that the PL would go and stack on your non-season character. IT actually gives a reason to play non-season sometimes. Right now there is absolutely zero reason to play non-season.

Unless they also cut down all affix ranges, it is not much of a course correction.
Since we are all playing the “I’m gonna assume things” game… Is it impossible to speculate that it’s still going to level 100, but u just get 5 paragon points a level instead? I’d believe that more than whatever these wild speculations are.
