I hope there are raids or planning to add them at some point in the game, they were fun in lost ark, and worked really well… also, im sorry for mentioning other inferior games like that one.
Hell no. I hate forced grouping and then gating the best rewards behind it. I hate finding people to do the raid with, and all the logistics and time wasting behind forming a raid party. I hate having to join a clan for the best opportunity to complete the raid.
I just want to enjoy the game on my own.
They’ve already forced open-world multiplayer on a community that largely did not want it. If they add raids, more forced multiplayer, and essentially go full mmo, that would ruin the game for me personally.
I know it’s just a game, but the news today that the developers are open to adding raids in the future was incredibly disheartening.
I think it’d be awesome especially if not just limited to clans and there’s a queuing-type system where you can just hit a button to accept and join up with others.
Raids would be interesting but they should be optional rather than required. In WoW the entire endgame and purpose just seems to be raiding and D4 should never become like that.
No forced grouping. I’m fine with content scaling for group size, but no content should be locked out if you play solo or co-op. If people want raids go sub to WoW.
I’ve been starting to see people say this… I’m not saying no but definitely not right away or anytime soon. I’d say waaaaaaaaay down the road POSSIBLY. Maybe even as far as a 2nd expansion. This isn’t an MMO. The second they implement raids is when this turns into one. I’m more leaning toward no thou.
No. I am not a fan of forced group content.
Yes, please.
It would be interesting if Blizzard adds 1 boss that isn’t necessarily a Raid event, but a Lost Ark type boss in his lair that you have to beat with a coordinated party and many complex mechanics like we see from Lost Ark bosses. If it’s a hit, then perhaps Blizzard will start dropping raids and more and more people will come to try it.
Remember, for the amount of rejection you see from some of the Diablo community members, their may be many more players waiting to join the Diablo universe if only it had Raids
Absolutely not. Won’t happen
I think raids would be awesome, however, there would need to be either a) better gear drops, or b) greater chance to get better gear, otherwise it’s not worth the hassle of cooperating when I can already just party with friends to do regular stuff.
Yup…
Yeah, hell no!

This is exactly one of the reasons why raids suck. To make it worthwhile to do, because of the time involved, the developers have to add the best rewards. This effectively gates the best rewards behind forced grouped content. No thank you!
I think raids would be cool too, more group activities sounds fun! Regarding Lost Ark raids tho, one of the reasons why I stopped playing that game is because of their stupid 1 shot mechanics where if you get hit by one of them you just die instantly even at full health with endgame gear, I think 1 shot mechanics are just not fun and ruins the game for me, I really hope D4 doesnt have this.
No it doesn’t.
They could make 4-player raids that drop way more gear than the standard solo dungeons. This would allow players the ability to accelerate their progression by cooperating, and allow players who prefer to play solo to still be able to get the gear they want.
Anytime content is more difficult, it needs to provide better rewards. Otherwise players will choose easy stuff to grind faster. Having a group of players means you’ll be able to complete content much quicker. To give players a place that has its difficulty scaled to offer groups a place to fight monsters that they couldn’t kill by themselves allows them to kill more powerful monsters.
It’s the same as world bosses. You don’t have to do it, but if you choose to do it than you’ll need a group or a very good build.
4 players are better than 1, and 4 players also require 4 times the loot. So it would be unfair and imbalanced if there wasn’t better rewards and harder challenges to accomplish that are aimed at this potential.
They’ve also stated that D4 is larger (more content) than the 3 previous games combined. So I don’t think anyone ought to be complaining that there’s not enough content to accommodate their needs.
I want them. I like what lost ark did with the raids. Theres a way to implement it and not be mandatory.
I want to clarify that when people say “forced group content” they mean that that is the most efficient way to progress gear. We should not have yet another Blizzard game where you must have a social clique and voice chat to minmax gear progression.
It would be the dumbest idea ever because not only would they be splitting their wow playerbase, they would be alienating and tossing away the players that don’t play wow that are here playing this.
Forced group content is cringe.
I’d only want that if it is not required and only drops cosmetics.
“Forced group content” actually means requiring group content in order to progress. Such as if the only way to complete end game was group content, or if the main quest line had a group quest that had to be completed to advance the plot.
Even if there were certain items that could only be acquired in group content, that would not be forced. But it doesn’t matter, because they’ve all but already stated you can get all of the gear by doing any of the activities in the game, so players can play the content of their choice. There will be certain things that can only be acquired from certain places, such as unique items.
It’s very unlikely that group content will have anything exclusive. Although it is likewise unlikely that group content won’t have much more plentiful rewards, since a group will kill monsters faster than a solo player and/or be capable of killing much more powerful monsters.
Y’all act like it’s unfair for people to have friends. I’m sorry, but 2 is better than 1.
not for this game. puggable world bosses is really pushing it… i hate being beholden to a set schedule… in a game…
No, it doesn’t. That’s what players that love forced group content say. What it actually means is that if you want to keep up with gear progression and the meta, you must do group content. It’s a shortened way to deliver that meaning without having to type it out every time.
Go ahead and ask any player that’s used the phrase in this thread to explain why adding raids is a bad idea. They will tell you the same. So you can go ahead and stop redefining the usage of the phrase in our arguments now.
