Since it’s all the rage these days, and Rod Ferguson said there would be more Diablo titles in less time in the future, how about a Souls style game ?
Sanctuary is a great setting to begin with, and fits perfectly the dark lonely atmosphere they tend to have. Really the only problems I can foresee are trying to incorporate things like minions and balancing casters/ranged attacks.
The potential is there for a really engaging experience I’d say, to dive into the lore but also really drive home how scary both Demons and Angels can be as it’s a vastly different approach to combat than most Diablo players are probably used to.

I’d be up for it. Or just give us D4 solo offline mode so we can mod the sh*t out of it lol.
Personally as a fan I’d say why not but i wouldnt play much i think.
I more than likely would try this out and see what it was like.
Souls-like games wouldn’t work very well with monetization systems that want to keep you online as much as possible, such as games with MTX shops.
The classic ARPG hack n’ slash – games in which you can spend a lot of time zooming around and simply left-clicking to blow up mobs – works fantastically well as a genre in which you can play for 8+ hours at a time, because there’s tons of chill relaxing periods between the high stress periods.
Games that are “you need to constantly dodge roll or do the correct input right now, or you’re dead,” with no relaxing periods in between that, are probably going to make most gamers want to take a break and decompress after a couple hours.
There’s a reason the Souls-like genre features buy-to-play games and doesn’t care about constantly keeping you online.
Diablo Cart… Mario Cart diablo style!

I’m for Super Diablo Fighter where we get to pit all the main characters up against each other in an epic style marvel vs capcom game!..yes!
Special guest character once your beat Diablo in challenge mode: Wirt the Peg Legged Boy!
All jokes aside…I’d play a soulslike diablo game.

is it live server, co-op or straight single player?
I would not personally.
They are 2 completely different platforms. Diablo is top down and a souls game is third person. Game/fight mechanics are also different.
I can see the appeal, but honestly i don’t want to think too much when playing diablo. I use that time to unplug my brain and unwind my body. I definitely do not want to think or get frustrated. Diablo is easy….and i would like to keep playing easy.
My 2 cents.

If we’re doing this then I would like Half Life: Diablo VR
It’s so real when you plug in, I think if the Butcher was to show up you’d soil yourself IRL.
Would likely be too scary for most to play tbh but damn I love to try!

Diablo is Diablolike
Dark soul is soulslike.
Interesting, but it’s still a top down view.
I want something more akin to Stellar Blade, just in a Diablo setting and using established classes. (Stellar Blade is phenomenal btw check out the demo)
Project D4’s first iteration was a souls-like game before it was scrapped. It would be ironic if Blizz releases a souls-like game in the Diablo universe.
Absolutely, I plan to buy No Rest For The Wicked, made by the same studio who created Ori & The Blind Forest.
“Even though Wicked was built from the ground up with multiplayer in mind, we did not want offline-play to feel like a second thought and we want people to be able to play on the go when connection quality is not always ideal,” Korol writes. “Our April 18th Early Access launch on PC will focus on the single player experience and we will be sharing more details about the Multiplayer aspect of the game later in our Early Access campaign.”
Just in case you were curious about the multiplayer aspect. It’s still in development mind you, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.
