World of Warcraft

Now that I’ve got your attention… :smirk:

Think about your typical World of Warcraft expansion. I’m sure many of you played at least one of. You have your overarching storyline, right? You have your new race and/or class. Your new zones, new questlines, new items, new raids. Think about how all this is played out from beginning to end…

Do we not have that? Do we not get that with VoH and with every season? Varshan, Grigoire, Beast in Ice, Duriel, Malphas, Andariel. We have new questlines. We have new items. New bosses. Yet people are clamoring for Blizzard to fix something or do something new. Blizzard has already produced what is typically within the realm of these types of games. What are they going to add that’s not a new dungeon, new items, new boss and whatnot? You’re asking for Blizzard to essentially reinvent the wheel and it’s an enormous task to put on them.

Get ready for the rebuttal, wait for it. The haters and PoE2 cheerleader’s will be arriving shortly.

I will have some chicken wings for dinner and watch 2 episodes of Miss Scarlet and the Duke with my wife.

i mean, i can understand that people are unhappy with the new kind of storytelling regarding diablo, as its quite a different take. Personally i agree tho. i dont die for the VoH campaign, but i think its been nicely told and leaves quite a lot of new options for the future.

on the malphas etc bosses, i personally would love if seasonal stuff would chime in into the story line a bit more. At least malphas hat some Zoltun Kulle lore to it. While s3 isnt my favorite season, id personally say its underrated when it comes to this.

but yea, in general i agree. People just try to be annoyed about d4 at this point. Some users are posting the same complaints and “d4 bad” threads since over a year by now. Kinda overshadows the discussions that are actually worth the time.

let’s recycle the old wheels:

1)spray some graffiti on season1 malignant hearts
2)recolour the season2 vampiric powers
3)re-render the season3 seneschal into a frog

tada, season7!

well, in the end it doesnt matter. people will find something to complain anyway. I remember how crazy people went over the traps in s3. I wonder how they enjoy that other game and their trials haha.

I still think that blizzard might as well close down the forums, like many other games do as well.

All this crying from pseudo developers here can rarely be considered “feedback”.i mean how often do people talk about “bad game design!” here? as if they had any clue how to design a game at all lol.

Then maybe they should find a different line of work if they are that soft.

Diablo 4 Dark Citadel → coop → ‘you stand here so that i can go there’

The Lost Vikings(1993) → coop → ‘you stand here so that i can go there’

pay tributes to predecessor or recycling the idea?

No Thank YOU! If I wanted to play that trash, I’d still be playing Guild War’s!

Most people arent asking them to reinvent the wheel.

They are asking them to at least make it a damn circle instead of a square.

How disappointing you must be, the only people who are posting here are D4 sycophants’
Poe2 players have moved on to better times, it seems you and your elk are talking in a echo chamber

Lol this place has been a ghost town since dec 6th.

You cant compare wow bosses to DIV bosses you can just pewpew down within no time. If there wasnt some clever raid leaders in wow nearly noone would defeat most of the raid bosses.

WOW is in a very good state now. Tons of people playing it.
Its fun, raid has serious mechanics that if don´t do it correctly means a group wipe.
Raid bosses defeats requires a clever group that knows what to do and in what time or its a group wipe.
WOW has serious class skills rotations and if you don´t know the right sequence you don´t do good dps even you have the best gear in game. So its a mix of good gear and player skills.

(Emphasis mine)

We most assuredly do not :rofl::rofl:

Does anyone really own elk though, really?

Good god! What’s going on over there?!?

Right. World of Warcraft is a multiplayer game, so it’s okay to have designs and mechanics around the group. Diablo is a single player game FIRST and multiplayer second and so everything has to be designed around a single player handling any given content. The multiplayer can be resolved by proper scaling. Which basically boils most things down to bullet sponges. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that.

The question is, how can single player bosses and such be made more robust such that a boss encounter in example is just as interesting and challenging as a raid boss encounter.

I enjoyed the story, also blizz has always nailed the art and cinematic cutscenes. Here is why I cant stand D4 in its current form.

  • List item Ancestral drops are absolutely dookie at the moment and there is no plans to change them according to the PTR, and they really want you to work around uniques, like, a lot.
  • Bosses are generic and die in ten seconds, unless the boss has un-skippable mechanics which is also terrible.
  • Re-rolling an item, especially an amulet to get those two passives you want is outrageously expensive. I would have never been able to roll the amulet I got before my transfer to POE if I wasn’t able to sell gideon brews for 27 billion. It took 3.5 billion before I finally got it. If they want to keep the costs they should add two more slots, for a total of four, of affixes you can choose from.
  • It has devolved into holding down one button, and once in awhile pressing another to activate a passive. Combat is not engaging. Which sometimes is fine when I feel like turning off my brain after a long day.
  • Endgame is absolutely tear inducing boring, once I get my character the way I want I just feel like rolling an alt.
  • World bosses are no threat, you can just stand in whatever crap they throw at you and then pound on the sponge until its dead and collect some weak look for doing so.
  • Weighted affixes for tempering have to go. The higher the in game value, i.e. Armor, or chance to cast twice. 90% of the time I will get two or three rolls of life before armor…or it will just brick.

Even though I am taking POE2 as my main ARPG, I really want D4 to succeed. Having two dope ARPG’s to mess around with at the same time would be awesome. Wasn’t a fan of Last Epoch, just seemed like it was in the middle of D4 and POE and kind of didn’t do either right.

Actually D4 Is/Has/Will Always Be Better than World of Warcra# :person_facepalming:

However D4 will for the foreseeable future be a step-down from

D2 and to a Much lesser degree D3 End Of Story.
