I too wanted World Bosses to be more resilient but this is ridiculous. I can take out a Tormented Duriel in seconds in a 4 man party but I deal nothing to a World Boss? I feel like the Resilience should be based on the World Bosses HP. Each marker hit should reduce the amount of Resilience causing it to take more damage as its HP falls.
It was definitely an improvement on world bosses. Now the fights mean something.
Still say they need to divide instances up better and have tormented versions for people with ultra geared out characters like the OP.
They must have really cranked it up in the later parts of WT4.
So far, doing WT2 and 3, the bosses have been reasonably tough, without feeling like we’re racing the timer.
I was shocked to see they had previously gave WT4 bosses 30,000% more health, compared to the 6,500 for WT3. Seems like they had no idea of what scaling should look like.
It was never going to make sense that a level 90 raid boss was going to stay at the same relevance / challenge first doing it in your 70s as it was being fully geared up at max level. You can’t even do some sliding scale to make the fight different for level 70 characters, 80, 90, etc. You’re fighting the same boss with the same poor loot drops. You just run into the other side of the spectrum of people who absolutely hate monsters scaling to character level, because they see it as invalidating their power fantasy … even though monsters can level up and gear too …
This is why we’ve needed a WT5 and probably 6 since the launch of the game. That way you can properly scale the encounters to the types of power leaps you’d expect at certain levels … and give players the opportunity to choose to fight tougher enemies with unreasonable toughness for better odds at / rolls of loot. Gives the people that want their power fantasy their ability to just smash things instantly if they want, or suffer with whether it’s rewarding enough to go through so much extra turmoil.
All Boss health was supposed to be reduced not increased per the patch notes.
In theory the current resilience kicks in more against higher damage characters, to level the playing field a bit between characters at different power levels.
World bosses have resilience now and those patch notes I don’t think apply to world bosses.
Yea I normally do between 10-30 mill per hit and hit multiple times per attack and this is reducing me to 50-100k.
They are so much better now. But don’t worry as people gear up they’ll go down fast again.
Why do I need to wait for other people to gear up if I’m already putting out this kind of damage?
World bosses are still fairly easy with a group.
They need to be harder, not easier.
The current state is much better than what we had last season, but that is from WT2 and 3.
And at the end of WT3 they were going down pretty quickly. Still gearing in WT 4 so will let you know when I go to one.

It’s a first step in a right direction
I love the changes to world bosses though I would like some increased rewards to go along with the new difficulty. Even without any additional rewards, the new WB normal is far more fun than having them disappear in 5 seconds.
Like I said, we need to separate out world boss instances at WT4 better. A fully geared level 100 shouldn’t be facing the same boss at a level 60 who just cleared capstone. Characters need to be sorted better so they face an appropriate challenge.
10,000,000 to 20,000,000 reduced to 50,000 to 100,000 is a reduction in damage by 200 to 400%.
a worldboss taking 3-5mins to kill is fine. this is the correct way to do it
The deduction is probably exponential in some way. Like (damage)^(3/4)
Why do they need to be harder?
Is any serious player actually going to the world boss other than for some prisms and to cross off one kill on the season journey?
Maybe I’m in the minority but world bosses have always just been a chore
People found them fun in beta and want them to be more difficult again. Frankly though, they need vastly better rewards now or they need the weekly limit removed. Either or.
