World bosses need better loot

World bosses need better loot. They need to drop multiple guaranteed ancestrals and higher chances to drop mythics for the world boss and the weekly cache. I think doing a world boss is pretty underwhelming because we just get a small amount of useless gear for kiling him. Also when will they add more world bosses? 7 seasons and an expansion later and we haven’t had any new world bosses.

I agree. There is absolutely nothing a WB offers that can’t be obtained in another, better way. Once you are in Torment one there should not be blue items dropping from a WB. Once in T3 or T4 it should be all legendary with increased rates for ancestral. Drops have only gotten worse over time.

Making this change would take thought and effort which guarantees it will never happen.

There is exclusive Group Tributes drop only from World Boss for GA gears and chance to get Mythic. There are players selling those tributes run in trade channel. This drops will not appear for player not owning the DLC.

so I can get another ancestral that has jokes per 5 seconds or healing rerolled. no thanks.

World boss are good for whispers, some gear at lower levels if your lucky. But mainly just whispers

This is a RNG game, you need to start with 5 seconds healing ancestral till you get what you need.

I think you should not open any hell tide chest or do any boss rota as 95% of time it drops you junk. Maybe you should consider play other game which has deterministic chance to drop gears you need.

I already got 4 mythics from the Tributes btw.

It is not just better loot, world bosses needs to be reworked from scratch. At the moment WB and even legions are not challenging at all. You can just step aside and wait when someone will wipe the boss or finish legion event. This should be challenging and adequately rewarded. For now it is like a quick whisper quest we have to wait an hour (?) for.

I wonder when the devs will realize that we need a solo option. I don’t understand why they pushed this game to the open world. All games in D-series have always been first and foremost a single player games with a multiplayer option. In D4 we should be able to create a game without anyone else on the battlefield (our battlefield). It’s OK for other players to be around - but only in the town to meet up for group play or trading. The area outside the town should always be aka “our realm” in private games (full stop)

Try and try again is a big theme of RNG games, no one just gets perfect gear all the time guaranteed, D4 has plenty of content that drops tons of gear, some more deterministic than others but in different ways of determinism but still RNG can’t just go away.

One thing that I found boring about Elden Ring is that if I wanted a powerful weapon I just look up online where it is and I just go there and get it. This type of loot is also what killed Cyberpunk for me because you could get all the best items in the by searching the web.

As for deterministically farming loot then D4 is a better game than PoE 2 by miles. Nothing hardly drops in PoE 2, and nothing is deterministic. If you are very lucky you can randomly get a rare with good stats but most of the time you get trash and the drops rates are much lower.

And what’s with the Weekly Cache? One single item? Never an Ancestral?

You say that like mythics have any actual value this season. Mythics are easy to obtain via drops or crafting. It’s the ancestrals that blow. They missed the boat. It’s why I dropped the season like 2 weeks ago. If they don’t un@#$% the loot for S7 I simply won’t be back. Between the intentionaly OPness of the SB and the horrible loot and aspect drops the season was a bust IMO.

I would love to see some different rewards. For example a boss specific Blessing for an hour or a free upgrade to one of the glyphs.

Ridiculously overpriced cosmetics. If you can see whale #1 in their $30 outfit, maybe you will buy one too

Elden Ring is not a loot game, there is no powerful weapon in the game as every weapon is viable, depends on how you use them. That’s the reason all gear has fix affix without RNG. Some website list those weapons are powerful is miss leading. As those special weapon most of them do certain elemental damage or apply status effect, they are good in clear trash mobs. But most of the boss resist to certain elemental damage and weak to another element. You need the weapon with right elemental damage to match the boss you are fighting. Those special weapon has powerful ability, which useful only on trash mobs. As many of them are slow, which will miss the agile boss.

You can’t even judge the Strength of a weapon by looking at its damage number. Heavy weapon has higher damage value but it attacks slowly. Those are less popular as smaller weapon with less damage but attack faster can stack more status effect. Slow and high damage big weapon is good in clear trash mobs with its bigger hit box. For most boss is recommended to use smaller and faster weapon. Nevertheless bigger weapon has a hidden stat which easier to stagger the boss, if you want to play a stagger build.

One of the best weapon you can get from early game is Claymore. Which is versatile and you can imbue it with different elemental damage to match the boss you fighting. You can get the equivalent weapon by purchase the Long sword from the early game vendor :grimacing: . Both weapon can carry you to end game even the highest difficulty NG+7.

You will not feel the difference if you use wrong weapon on each boss, if you play with summon aka easy mode.

Elden Ring is about combat, campaign and lore, same as many 3D ARPG game. This is same as Cyberpunk, players enjoy them because of every decision they make in the game matter. If you just looking for loot, should play only game with RNG gear. Those game usually will not emphasis on campaign and lore, so players can finish the campaign as quickly as possible to hunt the RNG loot.

If mythics have no value in the game, then you should stop play the game as every content is designed to drop mats for mythics. Try to play a build without any mythic and see how far you go.

Ancestrals can get easily in S5, it doesn’t make the season better than other seasons. Maybe in future season Blizzard will stop boss ladder and mythic crafting, mythic shall drop only via RNG like S0. This shall make the game feel better for you.

The only season mechanic in S6 is Realm Walker, it is a forgettable season.

they do need better drops, i wouldn’t mind if they can add in specific loot drops from WB as well, like some Uniques, in addition to the Unique loot pools from the torment bosses. I am not suggesting they take anything away rather.

Now that WB has resilience, the reward should also be a bit more meaningful to compensate for it.

From reading the responses, world bosses not only need better loot but they should give the player a long lasting buff after defeating them, and drop a set of random but useful class generic uniques, and be an actual threat against players geared in Torment 4, and give other rewards specific to defeating world bosses like unique undercity tributes, and they should give a substantial amount of XP for killing them in T4 like 100 million XP or the equivalent of 20 150 pit run completions and you will have the whole game lining up to take down the boss and not feel like their time was wasted doing so.

Yea, adding more mechanic to WB is also cool as well. It just has to give the rewards to balance the time spend and whatnot it needs to be somewhat equal.

But overall WB has not been known to be super challenging fight as it is open world event and , you don’t know who will be joining you and how many people. in WOW WB has real time scaling so the less people the less HP and dmg the boss does, as soon as someone joins and dmg the boss, the HP goes up in real time.

When Mythics are easy to get, which they are this season, then they don’t feel very mythic. They made good ancestral legendaries more rare than mythics. When I stopped playing a couple weeks back I had about 8 mythics in my stash, had salvaged multiple for sparks to craft other mythics, and had even gambled a few mythics. Both of my toons are still wearing 750 orange pieces because I can’t find replacements. The loot system is f@#$ed.
