World bosses are still too easy.
Yesterday I participated in defeating t4 Avarice twice at lvl 64-66 on barbarian. Sure, there were a few lvl 90’s but still, it was anticlimactic. Like, that’s it?
Later I saw a video of a next to max-lvl bleed barb build do 450,000,000 damage to Avarice… and the group killed them in 2 seconds. Two seconds!
What might be some fair, dynamic and interesting ways to enhance relative difficulty of world bosses?
Some ideas: Perhaps there could be dynamic stat and performance scalea per player and the group in total that shift or augment more than just the bosses damage and health/resistances. perhaps attack speed, rate of attack speed (later in fight the bosses could become more desperate and wild). Additional moves, perhaps other lesser elite enemy spawns would spice things up.
I understand that in some ways it’s dope to be able to easily conquer a titanic boss, but ultimately I am a player than wants a balance between a gradient of challenge that requires adept skill and also build.

I agree that the world bosses could use a boost, and more complex scaling would be nice. That said.
There aren’t good solutions. For the first few weeks the hundreds of thousands of players looking at this are going to be finding combinations/exploits a few hundred Blizzard staff didn’t think of, and we’re going to have to wait on the nerfs to sort out that out. I counsel patience to see how this works out.
Long term; imagine designing something so difficult that a high skill player with an optimal build can barely handle. That puts it out of reach of 99% of the player base.
We saw that at the Diablo 3 launch wherein Blizzard had publicly said that most players wouldn’t be able to handle the highest difficulty. Almost everyone was bouncing off the Act1 boss and Blizzard was forced to change that.

No thanks. I don’t wait 3-4 hours and a weekly loot lockout to have a boss fail because the tuning is too tight yet you can’t control who joins the zone. A boss ruined by underleveled characters or people running garbo builds I have no control over.
If you want challenge, go to nightmare dungeons.

All the bosses in the game need a boost. There is no tension or threat when you get to the boss at end of a dungeon.

Im ok with buffing the world boss as long as anyone below 70 is locked out. Tired of people in the 50s and low 60s that got carried to t4 and just die repeatedly.

You mean there’s more bugs and exploits in the game which makes them appear too easy… well that’s why they blocked edgemaster etc… they’ll fix it i’m sure.
There could be 2 types of world bosses. World raid bosses maybe? Something you could actually fail.
There are 3 world bosses and also the legion boss fights.
I would definitely Like to see world bosses buffed more. Make them over 100 to put up a decent fight or lower the escape time to 5 minutes or something. Even then it’s just a matter of finding the sweet spots to stand in and you still won’t get hurt. If you do mess up you should get punished for it.

Oh for sure. Been humbling myself in that level of challenge, and also doing t4 regular world dungeons, enemies lvl 73 when I’m 63. Fun fun
