Hi,
I’ve mostly played Necromancer since launch, but this season I decided to try a companion Druid build. After spending some time with it, I have to say the wolf companions feel really off — both in terms of gameplay and animations.
- Early game feel
- The wolves start out feeling like slow, weak puppies instead of ferocious predators. have you ever seen a real wolf move?
- They hardly attack, move sluggishly, and don’t give the impression of having powerful beasts fighting by your side.
- Considering they’re supposed to be empowered by the Druid’s strength, they should feel a lot more impactful.
- Active skill animation
- When activating the wolf ability, the animation looks clunky.
- The turn animation is stiff and too slow, and the wolves often “slide” toward their target before the animation finishes.
- In reality, wolves can twist, turn, and pounce with incredible speed — the current animation doesn’t capture that at all.
Right now, it feels more like lazy/unfinished design than the fluid, natural motion you’d expect from wolves.
Are others noticing this as well?
Is this something the devs are planning to improve?
I really think tightening up the animations and giving wolves more presence would make the companion Druid playstyle much more fun and satisfying.
the animations for the wolfes in titan quest 1 from 2006 is alot better…
