With the NDA lifting...probably a good time to go dark to avoid spoilers

Because they will be everywhere.

Great idea, I just don’t think I’ll be able to, lol. Too damned excited.

It’s times like these I’m happy I don’t remotely care about the story. I’ll read a synopsis after I beat it. The escape key is my friend.

i dont care for the story that much, but just another reason to hate the youtube cockroaches that cant go 5 seconds without spoiling the entire story in the thumbnail and headline just to get an extra click or 2 on their channel

disgusting wretches

A stipulation of the 30th NDA is…no spoilers. At least that’s what the tweets of the reviewers have stated. What exactly that means? Who knows until tomorrow.

I don’t care about rushing to the end like a speed demon on crack. I will play the game the way it was intended by checking everything out. So, I will avoid the streamers who will spoil everything just to get those views.

Probably meaningless because I’m sure most of them privately streamed to their buddies and inner circles and private Discords…so the spoilers won’t have to come from the streamers, they’ll just come from random people.

The cinematics are great, and the story is decent, but it’s a far cry from anything to be concerned about storywise… It’s not like there’s going to be a “No… I am your father” moment. Or a Revan reveal.

diablo will be revealed as revans father (whoever revan is)

I just can’t stand the idea of a Leah 2.0. My eyes already started glazing over. Hopefully they do a u turn with all that.

I never understood the hate for Leah. I thought it was a really cool twist to the story and one of the best cinematics in Diablo history as of now (act 4 intro Leah invading heaven). And getting Adria involved was cool bit too.

I feel like ppl that hate D3 have a rule in their brain that automatically forces them to hate everything D3. Even good things in D3. Not singling you out, but in a general sense, ita very childish thinking.

Diablo 3 was a good fun game that got me thousands of hours of entertainment with new Diablo friends added to my friend list. So what if it wasnt a D2 clone. GOOD! If you ask me, we have enough D2 with D2R.

Id love to know why you hated Leah.

Man, the embargo isnt even up and theres stuff popping up.

Going dark! See yall in a week after ive progressed a good deal.

:peace_symbol:

How would that happen…she’s in the cinematics too.

And very likely this version of the story is the U turn after they “decided to go in a different direction” after they didn’t like some of the stuff the writer that worked on Cyberpunk 2077 so he (probably) wasn’t good enough for them.

Almost time to say bye bye. Someone make one last respec thread, for old times sake.

I honestly don’t mind spoilers. I don’t seek them out purposely but if it happens it doesn’t bother me. Completely understand other people do though so when I am in the know of something I try not to spoil or at least use a form of spoiler tags.

They aren’t even allowed to post story spoilers until June 2nd embargo. The embargo for the 30th is about endgame, balance, gameplay, etc.

There is actually a NDA on story stuff till after Early Access any of the youtube personalities who got early access have stated this.

Ye, idk if i can hold myself to do that, i might just need the spoilers to be able to hold on for the last 2 days … gettin’ rough now

The NDA doesn’t lift.

D3’s story was cheesy and contrived in comparison to D1 and 2.

Look at it this way:

At this end of D1, the hero is forced to try and house Diablo’s essence inside himself in an effort to keep the devil at bay. You have a sneaky suspicion it was a terrible idea, and the devil actually won. At the very least, you didn’t win, and you hope for the best. And all of this happens after you work your way through a hopeless storyline, where even is one step ahead at every turn.

In D2, you learn the devil did actually win and is now possessing the body of D1’s hero. In fact, the only reason he’s going to the East isn’t because his salvation lies there, it’s because the devil inside is forcing him.

The end cinematic in D2 is one where you realize, evil has won, yet again. Baal murders Marius in an amazing twist of events, the asylum erupts into flames, and Baal marches forward, seemingly containing everything he needs to win.

In D3, angels, demons, and humanity all enjoy a new age of peace where everything is perfect and love reigns supreme. Diablo was no longer one of the 3 brothers, and Leah was a cheap attempt at something dark that would play on your emotions, since absolutely nothing else about the story was even remotely dark. It was obvious, each death in the story was simply a cheap, meaningless compensation.
