Is a fire sorcerer fun?
At 18, running flame shield, hydra, meteor and fireball. Seems to be working, at least in tier one.
Anyone at a higher level care to share their experience?
At level 34 at world tier 2 in my barb, it seems to slow to kill anything.
Barbs have both world first 100s in Normal and Hardcore mode. The idea that they are suffering is a myth.
As for Fire Sorc, I finished leveling one to 50 today. The damage scaling started to drop off around level 40 but I adjusted my build and was able to finish on WT2 comfortably. My Rogue does more damage but he also had better luck with drops.
Maybe I just need a little better gear then.
I am whirlwind and not cookie cutter but wondering if rend is the play now.
Might be, TBH I don’t like Whirlwind and never have. I had a much different build in mind for Barbarian when I finally roll mine.
Whirlwind is still great, it just has a lower damage ceiling and takes more gearing than before to reach sustainable fury levels.
I didn’t even know whirlwind was OP. I did zero research. I just like to chainsaw large packs of mobs.
I am not opposed to keep on my preferred build. May have to play what I get drop wise until I get some whirlwind drops.
There is nothing wrong with Barbs, they are still ultra strong. If you are struggling it’s likely a poor build or gear issue.
I’m having more of a issue keeping my Barb alive lost two now on hardcore to a one shot solo at level 40 ish.
I thought Barb sucked because i am at level 30 and still havent been able to beat the first quest of ACT 1.
I tried the Necromancer and ran into the exact same issue, so its not the Barb.
It seems to be how the game scales.
Leveling up seems to have made things harder.
I wonder if trying to stay at lowest level possible and not doing side missions would help?
Frustrating.
Lastly, spending 90% of my time running away from monsters is not fun.
I’m willing to accept that. I just came into this game as a filthy casual. Haven’t even maxed out yet.
welcome to rend / rupture house brother.
It’s been amazing and I finished WT2 with that build.

If hulk can’t smash, then we bleed them dry.

ww was too mainstream so I did not follow that build
I had d2 barb eyes. My nostalgia kicked in.
I’m tempted to try a rend/rupture build.
Mine right now is rend/deathblow with steel grasp.
rupture can burst bleed damage in quite good AOE and if you are lucky you may find fields of crimsons modifier ’ weap: While using this weapon, damaging at least one enemy with [Rupture] creates a blood pool that inflicts x Bleeding damage over 6 seconds. Enemies standing in the pool take 10% increased Bleeding damage’
