Anyone know whether there will be wing cosmetics in D4? I have not seen a discussion in the forum other than about the promotional Inarius wings for D3.
Not sure how I would feel about wings in D4 - don’t think they are consistent with the darker vibe.
Would you want wings for your character or your mount?
I tend to agree - the wings and the banners on your back in D3 got to be a little silly. I mean, who is going to fight the demons in Sanctuary with all that crap on your back. It’s unwieldy, and, to quote my D2 character, “I am overburdened.”
I did use the wing cosmetic in D3 on my crusader … I used the armoire to make him look like an angel (i.e. using certain armor cosmetics) … he looked pretty cool. But I haven’t heard anything like that, so far, for D4.
Would prefer they not be added myself. They look silly to me and since seeing other players is mandatory when in town would be quite jarring to see. However would love to have passive pets for picking up gold and mats for us, but only if they fit the theme and atmosphere of the game. No undead unicorns or the bloody teddy bear.
I think they said that wings and pets weren’t going to be in the game initially but maybe in the future. I could be misremembering that. It might have just been pets. Anyway I would’t be surprised to be both in the cash shop in the future.
“At launch, Diablo IV will have a gritty and grounded world. A cow level, wings, or pets take away from that groundedness. As they go down the line things will loosen up.”
From one of the dev interviews, I can’t remember which one though. I was a pet collector and occasional wing enjoyer, so as long as it fits the theme I’d like it.
I wouldn’t mind bringing over my D3 wings that I spent countless hours acquiring. I also wouldn’t mind that if I did use/equip them, that other players could make use of a setting in their game client to not show D3 wings (or any “outrageous” tagged transmogs).
I mostly use my wings, Mercy in the case of D3, so I can more easiy see where my character is onscreen. Some of them make it a lot easier for people with visual impairments to see their characters.
They will have wings in D4 but it seems like they will just be an emote. The D4 Ultimate Edition prepurchase has Wings of the Creator emote that gives you wings temporarily.
