The same as any other game. The satisfaction of having won.
Or do you want a cash prize?
Here, have a cow as a consolation prize.
That’s a very good question.
And the truth is, it depends on the player.
For some, that’s completing the campaign. For others, it’s defeating Lilith.
For others, it’s reaching Torment 4, and for others, it’s completing Pit 150.
I think all of these should be taken into consideration.
Yes cheesing a game to beat it in 20mins instead of playing through an amazing game is 100% boring. Why even play it at that point, use some cheats what’s the difference?
Games are designed to be beaten.
If you can’t win, then it’s not a game.
I never talked about Cheese (yes, I know what it means).
In games like Elden Ring, even a bad build can still win the game (beat the last boss). (Obviously, you have to be a good player and know the attack patterns). The point isn’t about cheesing the game, it’s about being able to win with what you like.
You don’t necessarily have to make the game easy to do this. You just have to give the player the right tools.
Only then will you see legends like “Let Me Solo Her” appear.
And winning being possible in any way is the best.
Remember, I’m talking about playstyle viability.
Not difficulty. Not speed. Just viability.
In other words, Viability does not mean “easy and fast”. It is possible to make a hard and slow game that meets the condition of being winnable in any way.
This community is too fixated with the idea that if it’s possible to win in X way, then it’s easy and fast… It’s like this is the only kind of victory they’ve ever experienced… It’s so sad…
