How can we leave the Witchdoctor out. Maybe we will see this class in a future patch.
Other than the Necro this is the only class with a real pet build, and they are fun to play and have a unique playstyle.

this is a dark and glauque game, no room for cartoonish classes
If you want a summoner class, then im sorry for you because even the necro and druid are dogwater version of summoners of what they were in Diablo 2

Just talking about the class itself lol. But you have a valid point regarding the new summoner classes in D4
No real way to know. I think it’s possible since we are pretty close to the witch doctor’s origins.

Why? We have the actual Necro so there is no need for a poor man’s replacement.

WD was in D3 first, then along came Necro. I wouldn’t mind WD coming back, but I don’t expect it.
But the Necro was in D2, and when it wasn’t in D3 and the WD was, there was a large outcry for the Necro. Which is one reason it was added as paid content.
That’s the genesis of the above poster’s comment.

Ahhh, a D2 zealot here. Ignore this irrelevance. Nothing to see here. The only mistake was his mommy and daddy letting him play an adult game series like Diablo games in the first place.

Loved the class, but it never really approached its potential. I know it lagged in popularity and Blizzard’s D3 resource allocation has been low for a long, long time, but they kinda just abandoned the class. Every once in a while it’d get this tiny buff with promises of more, but the more never really came. By the end, the class needed quite a bit of work.
Given its low popularity in D3, I don’t see it coming back.

I think the reason for its lack of popularity was it was seen as a Necromancer alternative/substitute and players werent having it. I have a feeling that because D4 is a live as service game supported for years to come, that at some point we will see WD come back. Lets hope my friend!
I hope they bring him back! I love that guy.
They could definitely spruce him up for D4.

We will. The devs are smart enough to not leave an entire fanbase of people behind for some arbitrary reason. More classes = more money via cosmetics. Simple as that.

The WD was always hated for not being the necromancer. Too much of a divergence from the beloved skinny goth.
IDK how I feel about some of these replies as they seem too personally attached to hating the WD. I didn’t enjoy the WD myself, but I know some people did, my son included. Either way that’s irrelevant here.
So far, they have copied classes that existed in D1, D2, and D3, without any new classes. It’s a lot easier and more inviting to do this and revamp how they are mechanically than to dream up entirely new classes that haven’t existed before.
It wouldn’t be too farfetched of an idea to think they’ll continue doing so, with a paladin or crusader and witch doctor… whether anyone likes it or not
After that, maybe they’ll create an entirely new, never before seen class in a future expansion.

Probably not is my best guess, but I hope so. He easily became my favorite class in D3.
