There is lots of hype about WSAD movement…
Is that means we will be able to cast when moving? If so, this is really cool feauture, if no I don´t understand what is the big deal.
No, of cause. It will be like playing on a gamepad
I am already using force to move due an injury. I play diablo since my mon gave me my first milk. Force to move is not as good in any way than normal mouse movement, but yes it is easy on your right hand. WASD will be just quadruple retarded force move, I HOPE ALL RELISE THAT - WE ALREADY HAVE FORCE MOVE IN THE GAME.
And NO you are not casting/moving (facepalm). This has nothing to do with the way you move…
You will be able if you find a way to bind your skills to your right hand. I dont see my slef using this. I use qweasd for my skills. Movement and interact is on mouse. I feel controller be better than wasd.
I don´t think binding your key has any relevance to this problem, but I may be wrong.
Yeah Mr. Facepalm I ofc assumed we won´t be able to do that, but I rathter double checked it here, bcs I don´t understand why is everyone so happy about it. Without moving when casting I see 0 use for this.
I would think that it will be coded to function exactly the same as standard ‘Force Move’.
If it’s what I think you’re saying some might think it is - then that would be imbalanced vs standard FM and Mouse/KB.
I responded 1st assuming one thing but I am curious how this works …
I’m not a very well traveled gamer, therefore I’m not exactly sure what this implies.
Is it - eg. “W” → cast skill that normally makes the Char stop to cast but it ignores this?
Would channeled skills “Cast on the fly” so to speak while moving?
Just trying to understand how it would function in other games.
EDIT: Read a few other posts and I understand how it - WASD and Mouse are supposed to work now.
Seems interesting…Sadly I’ve never taught myself how to use a multi-button mouse haha.
I’ll have to upgrade my 7 year old tried and true 3 button.
The big deal is that you won’t have to move you cursor back and forth all the time kite and then aim cooldowns in and then use it for movement. It’s a lot of back and forth with your mouse.
Now you will be able to move your character with WASD and rely on your mouse cursor purely for casting/Aiming cooldowns. This will make things like kiting strong enemies and attacking periodically far more fluid and with a lot less mouse flailing.
You would be able to move and cast skills at the same time if they allowed for it, but since the old control scheme is still in game and they’ll have to keep things fair, that will probably not be allowed for if they’re doing somewhat balanced game design.
Being able to do that would make PvP incredibly unfair on all of the clicker players for example…
Force move on W , interact on E and just move mouse where you need to go.
I dont see any difference vs just clicking when I do it like that. Long CD skills on mouse and gameplay is very relaxing on mouse hand.
Guys relax. I’m sure it’ll be broken at launch anyway.
Extremely unlikely, as this would provide a strong advantage over controller, when the goal is surely to reach parity (or as close as possible) with the different contol methods.
The big deal is it allows for ranged targeting in a different direction than your character movement. So when kiting you can consistently be moving in one direction while casting/attacking in another without moving your mouse cursor back and forth.
I probably won’t use it though.
WASD movement is best to use for power gaming perspective. I will try to do it but I am so used to mouse movement it will be hard.
Once S3 begins I’m sure Blizzard’s telemetry will show a good amount of people that wAnTeD iT trying it out–and 30 minutes later abandon using it forevermore.
