Do you know if Diablo 4 will support cross-save functionality? I’m interested in playing on multiple platforms and would like to know if my progress will be saved across them.

They talked about cross play (and saves) in one of dev streams. If memory serves, you can play in both and utilize cross saves, but you have to buy the game for each platform. Don’t quote me, go watch stream, but I think that’s what was said.

The game is completely cross plat and cross progression.

the only thing they should now add is cross-ownership. You buy on one platform and you own it everywhere.

That will never happen.
With the exception of Switch. Nintendo requires devs to have a solo off-line option to their games, due to the Switch’s portable functionality.
Blizzard refused to do that, so no Switch release, thus no Switch cross platform.
My wife is bummed about it, she is a Switch player, and enjoys Diablo.
I can confirm cross save/progression worked fine in the beta. Played on Xbox with my wife until she wanted to watch some tv then switched to my steam deck (pc) and continued right where I left off.

Nintendo does not require solo offline in all games. DCUO and Smite for example are on switch and online only.
