Genuine concern, most are not being open minded.
and have dug the heels in on mechanics and such. This worries me, since there is no talk about sharing cool discovery.
Instead it’s TY drama show, and complaining. It bums me out tbh, it;s one thing to nit pick on some things and give feedback. It’s another to just be blindly negative beyond the point of reasonable.
Perhaps, less time following the thinking of people with fancy channels and thumbnails and maybe explore the game as intended, by playing it. See what you can learn for yourself.
Saying someone else did that so i copy to be fast, is just that you copied, tbh i would argue they played the game and you didn’t you played on rails of the tracks they left behind.
Is this the problem?
If i exclude only limiting myself to playing meta, the game offers alot to do. So if you are just echoing meta, you are just echoing one way. That persons build that made it.
Thats fine if its your choice to do so, use it for inspiration whatever thats cool.
But remember who’s opinion it is before screaming the house down, maybe its just the symptom of the times, with a circulation of Streamer= followers, so its like a hive mind of one perspective, idk.
But at any rate, what do you think will happen re-works for the better or just a submission to hive minded takes?
Yeah it’s concerning, but also not very responsible of the influence some of them have, they don’t have to like the game, but they promote the following and its only good when good suites them, because thats the game they play to get money.
It’s dumb, that’s why i dont like it, in gaming it creates a certain capitalist, circle of backrubbing, and i am not in favour of it at all.
Others dont do this and remain passionate about gaming and thats fine i can accept those.
EDIT- maybe this is how the borg are created, content creators begin assimilating people
better games have been made with less; i don’t see why we should think they won’t continue to fumble this game. i see you on the forums calling for positivity but that is just how i feel, without adding any sensationalism or being hyperbolic. blizzard has largely been taking L’s in recent memory. it’s too bad. they own many of the greatest IPs of all time.
I don’t think it’s a hive mind thing at all.
When I started playing I enjoyed it & then Act Man came out with his video and I at the start disagreed with some of his points…
Then I played more & found that by 80 I was bored, nothing other than NM dungeons were worth doing, items become meaningless, the cracks started appearing.
That’s when I found that most people here felt the same.
So hive mind no, a collection of people with same experiences yes.
As for improvements, hopefully they listened to the majority of the player base and make the game more fun to play.
This guy had the worst take man, he complained of CC and was level 40, no gear most likely, that is hive mind meaning you dont look beyond what he is saying.
Yes it;s not Elden ring, that’s not even a comparisons. i get it it would be nice but its a arpg.
that video is terrible advice and ignores the gameplay,He was also wrong about the open world until last week, zones upscaled.
So if you had the same experience i guess you are tripping on the same grass, idk.
If you genuinely feel the same that is fine, but some are clearly echoing people like the act man.
He does the thinking and people talk. The only thing i agreed with is the open world like elden ring would be awesome, the rest was needed more time with the game.
Sucks its not fun for you right now, i hope they fix that whatever it may be.
Let’s be real, the only thing they want to do is improve the game. They want to continue to get a return on their investment. If they make a game that people don’t want to play then they’re going to get less of a return on their investment so I always feel that they’re going to do everything in their power to create a game that people want to play and love. It’s literally in their best interest.
If they release less than stellar patches, it’s because they are human. They will do their best to learn and try better. I’m certain of that.
I genuinely think the game is a souless corporate turd. Did not need youtuber to tell me that. Most of the reasoning presented by influencers does not feel like its a good take imo. Sadly , i do see way to many people parrot these talking points. Its very sad that the majority can not form an opinion without referencing an influencer .
That all being said, this game still blows and it will require a near ff14 level of humility and sacrifice to fix.
Btw blizzard… hint… ff14 prints money… you like predictable easy money right ?
Fair take, i respect expressing how you feel about the game, and thinking for yourself and not insulting me, while making your point.
Influencer takes only bother me because depending on who, they seem to care little or are bad at the game, a critique is fine, being bad at the game and blaming the game is a little different,
Like i dont compare a luxury car to a a sports car and expect to put on a filter and exhaust and blow people away, but the luxury car still preforms as it was intended and if you want sports you but sports. Both have pros and cons, but nether is trying to be the other.
Thats my gripe with overblown internet channel takes.
your point of view is fine though.
I know nothing about FF14, so you have lost me already.
Why? It has always been this way since civilizations formed.
If people want to be led around by streamers, while they make those streamers rich, it is their choice.
It doesn’t impact anyone else. This “trying to change other people’s minds” is futile.
No I don’t. What you or anyone choose to watch or follow does not impact me at all.
If the creators of this game think it is smart to listen to youtubers, great. If I don’t like what they put out, I set it down and move on to something I like. The product is a result of Blizzard’s decisions. If it ends up being something I don’t want to play, I won’t.
hmm, you have a good point. I still see the borg being formed. and a new society will be formed
But yeah, you make a good point, tends to have strong influence on corporate suites which rolls down hill sometimes and then angers a whole new crowd that was happily sitting at home playing.
Out of my control so yeah it is a waste of time tbh.
I know what you meant. But the reality is it is up to Blizzard (or any company) to decide to whom to cater their product.
If the borg is the majority then the game should cater to them. I mean if Blizzard wants to make the most from it. If I am in the minority, I have 2 choices, either adapt to like what it becomes or move on. The 3rd remote choice is make my own…which I am not going to do.
Right now Blizzard doesn’t seem to want to move away from what they have made, so that should tell you they have numbers to support this decision. I know the loud people want to convince you “everyone has stopped playing because they have”…but if that were true Blizzard would react differently. Don’t believe everything you hear.
What does your rant about streamers have to do with will the game be ruined or improved? Not all streamers are trolls, most bigger streamers are big because they have a similar voice to their audience.
The only thing that’s clear is that the game will be changed to try and hook people back in every quarter to purchase battle passes and play enough to be enticed into mtx.
I don’t know how many seasons it will take for people to forget how tedious the current version of the game is.
If, for example, season 2 had time to 100 decreased entirely, added interesting itemization, and allowed more flexibility to respeccing/inventory that could be a good enough pool.
I know plenty of people who won’t return until “max level” is trivially reached and the core gameplay loop is honing your build to increase power substantially without sifting through junk items to find the gems.
