Will Diablo 4 survive season 1 after Deluxe/Ultimate Edition players use up their battlepass?

I’m just not seeing the game improving with regards to any end game content and replayability. I could see people logging in to use up their battlepass in Season 1 because they bought a more expensive version of the game. It’s kind of like if you have a coupon you need to use up so you stop thinking about it. Or perhaps you feel like you need to get your money’s worth. After that though, why continue to play something unfun?

Waiting for improvements to use up our battlepass could be risky. The game may be nearly unplayable now with the worst patch in history of all Diablo games and ignored issues by devs. However, there’s no guarantee D4 gets better or survives. The trend of bad decisions for this game back to back leads me to doubt future patches and seasons. When I reflected I want to use mine up, give the game one last “chance”. This is despite the terrible patch and pre-season experience that make me feel it will still be a bad experience for me.

I uninstalled for weeks since there’s nothing to do at end game and didn’t miss this game at all. If I use that battlepass I won’t have anything stopping me from uninstalling permanently when I’ve had my fill/felt the disappointment one more time.

Imo, no. I give it 1 week. Once players are level 80-90 they will quit. Again, in my opinion.

i´m not using my battlepass on this crap season.

It’s a difficult decision for me because I know it’s bad now but their decisions have been so unpredictably bad I feel like it has over a 50% chance to keep getting worse.

i don’t care about the bp. i bought deluxe because of playing 4 days earlier. it meant to me a difference of 10 euros, that is barely more than 2 euros a day, less than i spend to offfer a coffee at a customer or friend or colleague at the bar each day during a break. i’ll play season because that’s the only reason i bought the game for: it being marketed as a seasonal game. i couldn’t care less about eternal realm campaign etc. i considered that disgusting, and if it wouldn’t exist i couldn’t bother less. they could literally sell the game without it, i’d have bought it anyway and in many senses it would have been better. from my point of view the game hasn’t begun yet, this was just a lousy tutorial or beta, with the additional bad of being imposed (no campaign, no season nor wts). my final view will be end of season, for now it’s not a good one (not at all) but the fact is, i am aware i’m judging the book by the (bad) sample chapter we got.

They just gonna use stash tab reward to bait for people in ss2

Most people will play it because fear of missing out or even World Tier V

Kinda sad they can really make the game great instead they use stalling tactic slow down the game starve people with stash and stuff and wait for the next season

They have plenty way to bait people into playing but some people also not put up with this bs and just stop playing forever or back year later

I think now is the right moment to use battlepass if you have it already. It might get even worse next seasons

Lets be honest, it wont survive BG3 launch, and certainly will not survive Starfield.

Dead game walking right now.

That’s a good argument but they are almost at the point of no return to me. They slowed down the game so much with the heavy-handed nerfs while doing literally nothing to make the game fun at end game. Slowing me down from reaching the non-existent end game just means I pick up a different game soon/once I use up my purchase.

What good is extra storage space when the end game is literally 99.9% vendorable/trashable loot still?

I’ve already bought the game and it’s not going to cost me anything to come back regularly to give the season a try and then play another game.

season 1 will be highly played by people out of curiosity , but s2 is already dead.

I’ll probably use my battle pass on season 28

What are you talking about? This patch just set you back 20 NM levels, there’s your endgame - try to get back to where you were.

It will cost you precious time, the most valuable resource of all. Time that could be spent playing a much better game such as Last Epoch.

Haha. I saw a good point someone made about this. All their changes assume people will continue to play their game no matter what. It was irksome to read “we did it for the long term health of the game” with every bad change in those patch notes. Just shows how out of touch they are.

More like their philosophy is “Let’s make it take longer but never better”. Every change was designed with the goal of slowing us down including the 3 to 5 second leave dungeon change. Those extra wasted seconds add up!

I bought the Ultimate Edition, not that bad a decision as I got to play it early, when it was fun. So i’ll play the first season until 6th Sept. I may come back in a couple of years assuming they’ve fixed the game and added back the fun. Games are meant to be fun and enjoyable, this is neither of those. Is it so wrong to play games to feel like a god to make up for how sh*t my job is ?

I will be waiting for when my Crusader arrives to use my battlepass to get his xmogs

I’m not playing for 5 weeks. I wanted to play S1 but they totally lost me …
Itemization and sense of progression and excitement there is none…
It was already boring and now they gonna make it even worse with slowing down since there isn’t going on enough especially after 50 60lvl no point in playing…
