Hello there,
Basically the title, do you think Diablo 4 will have bots problems like in other popular games?
Hello there,
Basically the title, do you think Diablo 4 will have bots problems like in other popular games?
Infestation? Nobody knows. But it will have bots to some degree. Every online game does, sadly.
Yes.
20 characterss.
100% there will be bots, it’s inevitable.
There’s trade.
Of course it will.
Jsp is already going and discussing, and was trading in each of the open betas. Websites are already up. Bots already function and are being sold. The chat spam will hit fairly quickly after early access.
As long as theres a way to gain financially, botting will be exponentially more prominent than if there wasn’t.
Yes - Goldselling will be making very good money in D4. That is sadly on the developers to create systems that rely so heavily on gold for almost all systems.
Thanks to the price and lack of regional pricing this should be waaaay better than usual. If there are no sales then this should be pretty good. Let’s hope they keep price reasonble and we might have very few bots.
Keep world wide price above 70 USD, don’t let people trade legendaries and uniques, don’t make easy but time consuming grind currencies all that valuable (= tone down end game respec cost) and there will be next to no botting.
I do not think so. Blizzard never allow that. Tries will punish by permanent MAC Ban.
Yea i see how well that went on D2… Or D2R… Or D3… Or WoW… Or…
Better get used to it, you’ll have the local chat spammed by goldselling sites.
theyll let it go and then say “we should have a token in d4 … theres already a black market anyways” cycles man. everything is cycles lol
sadly yes.
i really wonder why they allowed gold trade , knowing full well how it’ll go.
at the very least legendary and unique aren’t tradeable so it could be worse.
but there will definitely be RMT and bots ads spam due to gold and rare being tradeable.
100% there will be botting. Will it a be a widespread issue and a detriment to the game? I doubt you’ll notice any difference to be honest.
won’t be alot at the start. But probably will be more on S1 and later. It’s depends on what efforts will blizzard put for this problem. Game is pretty expensive now so probably bots will be and it’ won’t be very effective for botters if there will be some protection from blizzard at least before sales.
Oh really? This has worked soooooooo well in every other game they have.
Lol. Someone doesnt realize how easy it is to spoof hardware information. You can literally change macs in about 10 seconds.
Blizz is awful at catching botters, and even worse at enforcing their EULA/TOS.
In their defence its a never ending battle, as a bot they can catch today just takes a little update to go undetected tomorrow. Most bots operate on a service they connect to first, and if the said service is down, the bot wont even open. They go down due to game updates, warden (or whatever they call it now) updates, or reports from users being banned, and doesnt come back up until its “all clear” to minimize loss of customers.
Blizzard has to wage a battle against an unlimited number of enemies. One in which they CANT win, no matter how much money they throw at it.
As long as theres trade, there will be a VERY high demand for (and usage of) bots. Even without trade there will be demand, just in much lower quantities, as the botters for personal use are vastly lower in number than the botters for financial gain.
Your idea of how it works isnt how it works, and is very simple to circumvent.
The only thing tokens will do is set a price standard for things the botters will need to undercut. Depending on how big or small the operation, theyll have to decide if its worth it or not (profitable enough to justify continuing, which it would be for anyone running more than 2 or 3 accounts). Tokens just stabalize the rmt market at the end of the day.
You think they use their own money to buy keys? Lol.
Most use stolen cc info, sometimes from their own customers, but most often just purchased in bulk. The countries the bigger operations take place in really couldnt care much less, and its almost impossible to stop them.
They buy gift cards, pre paids, whatever with that, then buy keys with those. It costs them almost nothing to replace a banned account. Its ALMOST alllllllllll profit.
you should stop spouting nonsense. You look more just none-trading adept with superficial knowledge in how do bots work(heard somewhere words like jsp and etc)
There are some discussions about bots but nobody now is willing to invest a lot here cuz nobody knows about prices, bots policy and etc etc.
There is literally no chance that there will be bots infestation on pre season and on S1 probably too.
This is why I hate the game taking a more open MMO world approach, AI bots are growing in number and becoming smart, more prolific than ever before. Its only going to get worse too and Diablo 4 is going to be filled with them, so thanks for that blizzard.
I honestly don’t know if developers considered this, how far AI bots would come when they started developing D4 but I suspect its going to become so bad that eventually they will have to step in.
There were functioning in the closed beta… and you think they werent tested in the open?
Your blatant lack of knowledge on the subject doesnt mean its simply not there. You can pretend all day, but ignorance isnt always bliss, no matter how hard you want to believe it is.
Everyone knows the bot policy. Dont.
The prices are already stupid, and just look at jsp.
A quick bit of math tells you what the gold would convert to in real $$$, and that was beta. Live is going to be different, because youll get more quicker, but anyone with 3 braincells not struggling to survive can figure out that its going to be profitable… especially with the amount of whining about it done here lol.
Bots won’t be able to do much is my guess. They have to make new characters to even access the seasonal players, in which case they are only playing the game at the same rate as everyone else. It’s not like they’ve got 9 months to farm gold. They’ll have to make new chars every 3 months, and then as we already know, as the difficulty goes up so too does the gold earned. With the difficulty going up the bot account will need relatively decent gear to not die and efficient enough damage to kill mobs quick enough to make it profitable. Of course they could stay WT1 farming afk through the night for gold, but how much gold does repeatedly killing trash for 24 hours straight realistically give you?
I think the item trader community is going to be more of a threat to the economy than these bots TBH.
