From Grim tree award or the Obols cache. Anyone know?
Anything and everything that is not related to the seasonal gimmick will carry over to Eternal. So yes caches will carry over, I’ve had a few on other characters from S1 and S2 carry over because I never cared to open them before I stopped playing for that season.
how about the Murmuring Cache which contains Obols? the Cache is seasonal only but Obols are not seasonal only.
Yes but they are a reward, not part of the gimmick like the stones for your pet or the items used to summon Malphas or to get the buff from the shrines at the beginning of the vaults. Honestly you shouldn’t have any issues carrying this over if you want to hold onto it for Eternal Realm instead.
So If I open S3 cache when they pass to S4 eternal, I should get new updated S4 gear?
That I can’t confirm, they say that the contents of the caches are typically set as soon as you get the cache not when you open it. If that’s true, you’ll get ‘Legacy’ gear instead, that won’t have the new affix changes. If it’s not true, you’ll get brand new S4 Patch gear. We’ll find out in about a month. Only thing I know for certain is your caches will stay on your character and won’t be deleted.
I’m not sure if that’s true. I guess a way to test it is to open it on another class. For example get a cache on a barb and open it on druid. If it’s barb gear then it’s set when you get it, if it’s druid gear then it’s just triggering a loot drop as if you just killed a mob. I guess then the question is do caches specify a particular loot table or is it just the current in game plot tables.
I did a test on eternal, Sorc get cache and let my rouge open it, I got rogue gear
Yea I wasn’t sure of it either, I just threw out what people said. I’ve never confirmed it myself, but:
This makes me hopeful that it’ll be the new gear on Eternal for those saving Caches. Obviously we won’t know til the patch hits of course, and it doesn’t affect me as I don’t play Eternal, but gives some hope at least.
