My wife and I started playing S9 after skipping S8. I noticed when we’re doing Helltides I can collect the orbs monsters drop, to open chests as we’re trying to get living steel. She however cannot collect any dropped orbs. She was able to in all others seasons we played S2-7, but not in S9 for some reason.
Anyone have any ideas here ?
We tried logging in and out on both our characters. We teleported to another zone and back. I completely closed the game and opened it back up, nothing has worked. Thanks in advance for any replies.
im guessing when you say orbs you are referring to cinders and not the orbs from the quests that pop up.
What if she only played her own toon not grouped with you, or even for that matter, have you off line and her start the game. After she collects, try joining her game

Yes cinders lol, I couldn’t remember what they were called for the life of me. When we were in the HT last night, I logged out and she remained there but didn’t seem able to collect the cinders.
When we created our characters we both selected to start the game with VOH exp completed or whatever the option was. We’re not doing anything differently than in S2-7.
Tonight I’ll have her fire the game up and head to a HT to see if she can collect cinders, before I log in at all. Just really weird, last week she was able to collect the cinders and open the chests. Last couple days she’s been unable to.
She’s not collecting them even if she runs over them?
Does she have a pet equipped?

She didn’t have a pet equipped. She was running over the conders and there was no UI on screen showing a total for her. The UI blue circle shown for me and kept going up as I collected them, but the yellow circles that should show what she had wasn’t even on screen.
I did a search few minutes ago where in past seasons sone mentioned having a similar issue. For this person they also only seen a UI on the screen for one player, but that the other player was still getting cinders, just didn’t show both UIs for each player on screen.
That doesn’t seem to be our case though as my wife tried to open a chest. At a point I had plenty cinders and she should’ve too, but couldn’t open a chest. Going to play in a little bit and see if anything different happens today heh.
Are you playing couch coop on console? If so, this has been ongoing for a while and it’s just UI… both players collect cinders at similar rates, but not identical. You could have had 85 or 100 and she could still only have 74.
