Why we dont get a gem tab?

why we dont get a gem tab?

It would probably crash their servers. Honest guess.

Oh this is a Blizzard game. You’ll have to beg MUCH harder for basic QoL.

Gem tab is supposedly for S2 =)

People still pick up and hoard gems?

It will not be it’s own tab, but added to the material section.

Because this is Blizzard in name only now.

There will be the option to buy one for $4.99 in season 2
LOL

Funny how they can move at lightning speed to “fix” when people start finding powerful builds and thus having fun… but adding any quality of life features or fixing bugs? “Game development isr eally hard guys! Just wait for a couple months to a year and we’ll get right on it!”

Why we dont pay attention to campfire chats?

Tell me you have no clue what you’re talking about without telling me?

You’ve never written a line of code in your life if you think those changes would be the same.

Actually; I HAVE, entire programs in fact. And the changes would be incredibly easy… considering the “tab for a certain type of item” architecture already exists in the game; it would just be a matter of adding one more instance of it, tied to a different item tag, IE: gems instead of elixirs, etc. The fact that the game is coded like trash, and has to load every single instanced player’s entire inventory and stash when you enter a zone; and thus this change would make that lag-spike problem even worse is an entirely unrelated issue to whether the gem tab existing is an easy or hard fix.

You think that changing a single number to nerf a skill is the same size of a change as a ui redesign and associated interactivity. And you claim to have written “entire programs”

Bs.

Devs don’t code individual elements by hand anymore; a UI-button is part of a pre-existing framework. Adding a tab is hardly “redesigning” anything; considering the tab system, inventory system, and item tags all already exist and are in use.

Ditto the oft-requested ability to zoom the camera out: the code already exists; it’s used in the world boss fights… The fact that none of the environments were designed with you being able to see more is a different issue.

To make you spend more time dealing with the real game: item filtering and reading simulator

The tab wouldn’t be the same as any other tab, and what is it you think the framework will do with the graphics? These aren’t java swing buttons.

And they’re not adding a gem tab, it’s going into materials, which doesn’t have any similar functionality where you can click on it and put it in a socket.

They first have to figure out how to make your gem stash ‘readable’ by any other player you come across without breaking the game.

Now who is asserting things they couldn’t possibly know for certain… Please; do tell me more about the features that “will” exist but don’t yet.

As I told OP above: pay attention during campfire chats and dev updates and you won’t miss things. You can also read summaries.

Yes; because Blizzard would never over-promise things to try to put out PR fires that they don’t know if they can or will do in future; let’s blindly trust that this mega-corporation is being perfectly honest with us; and everything they promise WILL definitely see the light of day, it’s worked so well before! … Don’t look over there: it’s the corpse of Overwatch 2’s single-player content… it’s starting to smell a bit.
