It really makes everything else is game a waste of time and -only- means to farm same materials to kill same boss hoping for that drop.
I don’t even pickup anything anymore because it will either go into my stash or not worth since it won’t be 925.
Helltides = steels and souls for Ubers
Blood harvest = easier leveling so you can farm tree of whispers = get materials for Ubers
NMD’s so you can kill Ubers
World Boss, so you can get materials for Ubers
Tree of whispers = Getting materials for Ubers
In many ways, the game is better now, but it’s also worse in many other ways.

Its all irrelevant until unqiues are better and everything is tradeable. No point on having 6 grandfathers if you cant do anything with them.

I vaguely remember the devs saying a long time ago that we have options, if you don’t like this activity then you don’t need to do it. Well, right now I’m not liking Helltides but I need to do them for my Duriel runs.
As for Target Farming though, I think this feature is a good idea. I love the fact that I can now target farm.

I’d hardly consider these bosses target farming. Its a very lazy implementation. Target farming should be throughout the entire game not just a few bosses.

Why do we have to farm/grind mats just for an ticket to the Uber boss amusement park? D2 didn’t have these requirements.
If the D4 devs don’t want people doing it repeatedly, then use lockout timers.

That is the end game.
Most people have exceeded power levels to do NM’s at 100 anyway with potions anyhow, but there’s literally nothing to do with the gear after you get it this season.
Maybe next patch.
But if you calculate it out, it’s what 2 percent change to get a uber unique, if you were looking for a 95% confidence interval, you need to do 2 hell tides which is about 3 hours, and at least 2 set of whispers which for most people will take about 40 minutes (4, 5 level reward dungeons). So that’s about 5 hours per run with duriel.
On average, you’d have to do 250 hours of play to get 1 unique so the CI is going to be huge? Something like probably 750 hours minimum for 95%?
Getting all uber uniques on average will be 1500 hours with at least 4500 hours for 87.5% chance. I know 3x is a lazy way of doing it, but I think it’s 50/75/87.5/93.75/96.875. So it’s definitely higher depending on what bracket you are looking at.
Wonder if anyone has already calculated it out.
It’s a pretty damn good time sink.
D2 peeps does this come in line with runes?
I imagiine if we have competitive push leaderboards, it will be without uber uniques btw.

no, i meant, i already have best in slot items, pretty much for my build… but i will be changing build and already farmed things for that…
when i mean bis, outside, uber uniques…
and to phatty:
you’re right, it’s a huge time sink, but the difference is in D2, there are plenty of rare items but all pretty much can be traded for, so if you want, u just need enough gold, for example. and you can farm gold, in a variety of ways, in D4 u cannot trade it and with these odds, you can do 10 seasons and 5k ubers and not get a shako.

well if you are doing ubers only, you will end up with 925 3 affix+ 1 res gear easily. LOL.
The res game has changed how I shift gearing time to time. I have a poison set i’m working on for Duriel.
But generally speaking, you do have to be at the end game loop to be searching for 925 gear.
Most of my gear is 875+ 4 affix (no res) right now, so I generally don’t look at it anyway unless it’s 925.
Lack of stash only allows me to keep a limited amount of back up perfect aspects for upgrading, so it has to really be worth going to at this point.
Side grades won’t be worth it. 925 4/4 or bust!

it also means streamers get to sit their and farm one monster over and over and never run out of mats cause of their viewers

to be honest, 925 only matters on weapons… rest is meh… like diff between 925 and 850 is about 36 armor, so when you have 8k+ it really doesn’t matter…
but uniques did make it gear much easier - my armor, helm, pants are unique and for new build, bis amulet is unique… if i get GF (lol),m it will be 4th slot that I won’t need to gear for…

i don’t mind tbh… better than just running NMD over an over
now, what annoys me is having to constantly travel to tree of whispers for hand in and then TP back to finish up other little tasks. this interrupts my game play and the more i do it, the less i want to. something needs changing IMO
I agree with you and Nyurei that in generally any well rolled 850+ gear is more than enough for everyone (outside of weapons).
I just think human nature wise, the final frontier is what everyone is shooting for.
925 4/4, uber uniques - this is where it is at now.
There isn’t content for it, which is the overall big picture - which is a good point many people make.
Kinda like boasting rites / rare skin type of thing - especially for seasonal players because - lol it’s going to be gone season 3 and you’ll have to redo.
I can see people saying, this isn’t for me and shelving the game at this point or rolling to another class and hope to get it organically at some point.
TBH they should just even out the drop rates
As is - blood harvest gives WAAY too much loot compared to everything else
NMDs can still drop the uniques at a semi-decent rate, it’s just that gain-wise they’re not related to anything else
That’s why I think there should be some connection between loot and glyphs in a way (just not sure how to do that)

as for blood harvest, it’s 10x better than helltides. and yes, drop rate is crazy good. I did o2 last night 150 each and found 4 uniques and had to tp 3 times to sell…

As far as I’m concerned blood harvest is way too bloated. We need better loot yes (in terms of quality) but not THAT
Don’t bombard it (at least not on early levels man), not always more is better, Please understand that and stop being so benefit and reward-centric all the time, it ruins the game
Like - we can easily see the outlier here, BH needs be nerfed but fine for season whatever - just please don’t bloat the rest
Also - did a few Helltides today and they’re still perfectly fine, the only problem is they seem to still have the 250 cinder chests and not sure why they are there (except screw with the player :P)

bh early on is a godsend for crafting materials and aspects, after you hit 100, it’s not as useful unless you need aspects for a new build. i think helltides are just too flawed, and bh is fine as is
The interesting part is that you don’t need anything the Uber’s drop in order to finish NMD 100 or Echo of Lilith content. Optional content in other words 
Did we play a different game? I seem to remember farming a ton of keys and body parts and praying to RNG gods.

You’re right! We need D2 style, dual wield 2H sword, and allow Grand Father to be twin unique so can wield 2 at once!
@OP, I think the total drop rate in end game is much higher, and so high to the point where you will get many copies of everything. I feel the current system is way better than the original one, even if it all leads to boss farming. And I much prefer that game flow repeat to NMD which still feels like work. At least Duriel is a quick turn at the slot machine without having to find him.
