it doesn’t but ok, whatever.
necromancer has to spend 2 slots just for his minions, which leaves 4 for the rest of his arsenal, half of those picks being non-optional mandatory picks, because you need a resource generator ability, a damage ability, a core ability and possibly an escape/defensive/ult ability.
druid has to spend 2 slots for his companions as well.
barb has to spend 3 slots for shouts and the other half on bleed abilities if he hopes to be even remotely viable an non-meme.
there is no freedom of choice, only the illusion of choice.
there is simply no scenario where having more slots would be unpreferable to having only 6.

I don’t see need to have more than one energy spender on rogue. But i can kinda understand if you think otherwise.
this is innacurate on the barb. i got a barb to hardcore 25 only using rallying cry for shout. solo’d most of the content
regardless, that doesn’t refute anything i said so far.
It’s fairly simple, I have a ranged and melee energy spender. To not use a ranged move on rogue is wasting half of your versatility.

False. you can spam valkyrie to your hearts content, unless ACTIVISION made changes to D2R, in which case that is a BS unwelcome change as well.
I would like to see the PC version of the game use key 1-6 and the 2 mouse buttons. Some builds are handicapped by inadequate means to trigger active skills.
But it makes the argument less significant.
If at the end of the day you’re only going to use the same 6-8 skills, why do you need more skill slots beyond that?
From a design standpoint, unlocking more skill slots is going to result in skills being significantly altered to rebalance (probably lower skill DPS) everything.
but is the burger more tasty?
sure it might be messy, but it has more nutrition and flavor than a fried bun.
If the necro could use more abilitys and minions he would be even stronger than he is now.
Druid the same besudes he is bad at lvl 25 because he cant get his class perk.
Barb doesn’t need all shouts for all builds, so i don’t see a reason why he would need more.
There is a freedom of choice you can literally pick a build and play, every class can do it.
Obviously some classes better than others but i wouldn’t care about balance on a level 25 Beta
what are you doing on a game forum with skin as thin as yours?
what exactly makes having more options “pointless”?
you haven’t given me any reason to believe that claim. none.
No, eventually there’s too much and it doesn’t taste like anything, the proper amount of ingredients in cooking is important.
Any chef will tell you that.
yeah and i bet the process was slow compared to a scenario where all your skills were available, let alone compared to every other class in the game, except for druid.
Many skills had CDs added to them on the release of LoD, fissure, blizzard, frozen orb, etc.
Twinki, I think generally the point is just that we want more engaging gameplay. 6 moves may be okay for you and some other players, and there are definitely builds in d2 that could be done with 6 moves.
But that doesn’t mean all of us should be limited to 6 moves. Personally, I love those interactions where you need a specific move to survive. Like in d2, you needed to have atleast 1 point in Berserk on a barb to be able to kill ghosts, because it did magic damage. Stuff like that is just neat and interesting. I want a diversified skill tree that will help me handle a diversified portfolio of enemies. 6 is just not enough in todays world of gaming. There’s more buttons in Effing Fortnite.

I get that. In that case it might make sense for you. But i like to specialise more in one direction and rogue has really nice mobility.
I think the only change u would make to skillslots is to give one more just for the ultimate that can only slot ultimates. I think that would make sense to let them feel like ultimates.
because maybe i’d like to use more than 1 out of a total of 2 curses as necromancer.
maybe i want to have an escape ability or a defensive without having to sacrifice a build-defining skill to get it.
maybe i simply want to add some variation to my dull dps rotation that consists of like 1-3 abilities in total.
maybe i want to have access to my ultimate without gimping myself by choosing to put it in my bar.
that’s literally a non-issue.
diablo franchise is about breaking the game, become a god and make it your b****.
again, this is not wow, LoL or dota, “balance” is basically completely irrelevant because pvp is a meme in diablo.
Not really much of an argument on that one when you bring up an antiquated gameplay mechanic (immunities)
Fine, hows this,
As cold sorc, you needed to have atleast 1 strong fire or lightning move to handle your cold immunes.
