It is very frustrating having a to delete a character to make room every time a new season starts. Why not at least give us a “re-birth” mechanic for the ones we already have? Getting rid of a character I’ve spent hours and hours on just sucks.
Re-birth? BLASPHEMY. We wouldn’t and couldn’t dare spend precious resources that could otherwise be spent on creating micro-transactions on such an outrageous last-gen/already-implemented-in-the-last-game feature!
Probably due to server capacity… but no one likes to hear this answer.
So there are only two popular answers: Money (greed) or incompetence.
D3 had better servers I guess exx dee XD
Diablo 3 has the same number of slots at the start (2012). And to think that server optimization was never done is, to say the least, dumb.
Also… you build (pay for) a server that meets what you need. Increasing capacity requires money (Greed).
There are 10 slots, right? 1 slot is a 10% increase.
You can use the “just in case” extra capacity, but then you are left with less "just in case extra capacity , making yourself more prone to big problems.
For example, once FF14 had to temporarily block character creation due to a large increase in players. All the “just in case” extra capacity was used in that case, and it was clearly not enough.
Proof D3 better/more successful than D4. Woohoo!
How? I don’t get it.
It took Diablo 3 an expansion (2 years) to have more slots.
Instead of “why not more character slots”, a better question is “why not a better game design, outside of FOMO seasons with little to no content and no ability to go back and experience stories?”
Because D3 had a rebirth feature and D4 doesn’t. Duh. We improve our games in a backwards fashion!
And could you explain to me what that has to do with the servers?
I still don’t get it.
Why not rebirth?
IDK… incompetence?
Why not more character slots?
Servers (AKA money-Greed)
You really picked out that specific part of the response and chose to be serious after reading the rest?
That happens because not everything is 100% bad.
The world is not black and white.
Also, you tried to completely change what I was talking about in order to “win” the argument:
You’re right, not having things that D3 had is going backwards, but at the same time, more characters means more server, so I’m also right.
It’s a gray situation (partly because we are talking about totally different things that have nothing to do with each other)
Guess wat? D3 is still available. go back to it.
This just keeps getting better and better
It’s absurd we don’t have more.
But but but buttttt excuse #293!!!
Don’t we have like 10 slots? i delete most of my characters every season. I wouldn’t get attached to your characters in a seasonal game. keep your favs for eternal
Oops I was off. This is #133. My bad.
Classic. You laugh and pretend you “don’t care” so you feel like you’ve won.
Well… at least this is better than insulting to achieve the same effect.
Some players play all 5 classes each season. By the time the second season arrived they no longer had space.
You misquoted me you left out the
