They already tried that with the RMAH in D3 and it failed miserably. Most people simply do not want to trade and would prefer to earn their own gear by actually playing the game.
Why’d it fail?
Oh… you don’t know. Just talking points to you; validated by others who don’t analyze things themselves.
third party shops!!!
And yet you are making sound like Trading is a HUGE deal. So, we’re focused on that. Why is it even important or needs to be a thing? It DOESN’T have to be, its just there for convenience… Uniques are even more rare to give away if possible but why would you? THey’re going straight into Salvage the second they get them if they’re not remotely useful to them, for upgrading especially.
what exactly do you do with 50 trillion gold in this game? what happens when you sit on 20 shako’s? it works for poe because the literal currency is used on gg items. d4 doesn’t have that indepth system of crafting to warrant for unique item trading.
Yeah… It is huge.
In one game, we play by ourselves and work our ways towards getting moderate increases in power. We can show off nothing to others, have no community and get bored and quit.
Why apparently many of the forum trolls here are into.
In the other game, we are constantly on the look out for cool items others have found. Get knowledgeable about all items in the game. Share finds we get with others and trade upwards to better gear without the mind numbingly boring grind fest being the only thing we can do.
Forgot to add:
Power Leveling
Paragon Power Leveling
NOT locked Items…
Traderie already has and had board up for D4 over a month ago…
But it could.
Gold as a currency is dumb. Because it drops everywhere all the time.
Either way. Convert gold to rare items like SOJ that people will always want. Then when a new item comes out… You don’t have to farm for it, just trade.
This game IS NOT for you then…
Don’t let the door hit you in the a-- on the way out…
Trading anything above a YELLOW IS NOT going to happen in this game…
Toodles!
my point was, i don’t see a reason to trade for it. you wanted sojs, not only for the stats, but you could sell it to a vendor to summon uber diablo. now it’s like, you would only want it for a build, you can’t do anything else with it. so why would i want 50 sojs? i just don’t see the reason to hoard items, unless there’s something i’m missing.
With the RNG in this game, YOU’RE NOT going to have 50 Soj…you’ll be lucky to even GET ONE…
50 was an exaggeration, but the point still remains. regardless of how difficult the items will be to obtain, there still isn’t much of a point in having more than 1 or 2 (or whatever the limit is) on one character. there’s gonna be a point where you hit a wall and not care for more sojs.
Uh, haven’t you been paying attention?
Seasons are where you’re supposed to play, so YOU WON’T be finding doubles of ANYTHING, and trying to hoard it is useless as you’re on a 3 month clock, then get dumped to eternal, to run the hamster wheel all over.
Which then brings in the Nothing Tradeable Above Yellow, as you’re expected to run the wheel again, thus allowing everyone to be on an EVEN keel.
As an Eternal player only, and most I know, we want to find our own stuff, that’s the POINT of the game. Just trading/buying it all defeats the purpose of even playing…
Toodles!
Sojs were currency to trade to people. For instance. A good windforce was worth 40Sojs
They became currency(prior to runes) because there were unique items, took 1 slot, and could be used on any character.
Because they remembered what happened with d3 on release and don’t want a repeat.
right, other than the stats on it, why would people want more sojs? again, for uber diablo and crafting. i know that it was traded for other items, but why sojs? why pskulls? because those items were utilized in other things. there’s nothing, to my knowledge, like that in d4.
No need. They drop like candy.
i hope you realize we’re talking about the same thing. for some reason, it doesn’t seem like you understand what i’m saying. but anyways, i totally agree with your stance.
The RMAH was a resounding success, and highly enjoyed by a lot of people. The only reason it went away is because of government regulations. They took it offline the exact same day that a regulation would have went into place where they would have had to send out w2s to everybody.
But no one is calling for a real money auction house to be used in Diablo 4. A regular trading system with listings would be great though. And open trading is the way to go.
Bc they do not want to spend the resources to monitor their game. No open trading is a huge flaw and likely game killer in the long run. How many real world casual gamers are going to love the fact they get a unique only for it to be the complete opposite of the build they are going for? Not a problem when there is open trading. Seeing how Casuals ARE the primary revenue stream for any game these days they will take the hit in player count later down the road. As far as RMT goes, who cares. It has no effect on you in the game. (as long as there is no full screen spam chat)
