I find it weird that basic attack skills are discriminated this way. In d3 there are successful primary skill builds and I think that’s a good thing, adding more variety to the game, instead of the default thinking that only core or mastery skills deserve to be your main damage dealers.
There are plenty of gear with +basic skill damage modifiers. I was using 2 rares with +6.5% basic skill damage each, also had a legendary with +13% basic skill damage.
I think they mean no +x to the rank of basic skills, the way you might get +1 to Upheaval or +2 to Hydras on gear.
But you are right, +13% to basic skills is even better than a +1 to all basic skill ranks.
I heard that some players pushed their hydra to 11/5, and I don’t think simple % basic skill damage can match that
So they had +6 ranks from gear, obviously multiple pieces of gear. 6 ranks gives you +60% damage.
5 pieces of gear with +13% basic attack damage like the poster above mentioned would give you +65% damage on your basic attacks. Doesn’t sound much different to me.
I hope that’s the case
I really hope they have Depth Diggers as a unique item. I really like basic attack builds
i dont remember +basic skills on items but there was a leggo with some crazy amount of attack speed for basic skills. im thinking theres gonna be ways to build for strong basic skill for sure.
I was playing arc lash sorc the entire beta last week, was fun and after some good gears I managed to bring my dungeon boss kill speed to 5s, and managed to solo butcher once
But it’s a crit intensive build, so not beginner friendly
And not tanky enough, because I don’t drop the lego that allows % damage reduction after hitting enemy with basic attack
